I must be doing something wrong with the applying process. I have mailed, emailed, faxed my cover letter & resume in with no responses.

Ameriflight just posted another opening on Climbto350.com

Posted requirements: 14 CFR 135.243(c), 1500-1800tt & 250-350 Multi

I have: ATP, 2455tt, 2340 PIC & 748 Multi

700 hrs P.I.C. in C-310R for FAR135 charter/cargo op.

I guess I need to do the online application, huh?
Anybody in the know please PM, Thanks!

Ya you need to call and them, you will get the interview. Call them right now and ask for Jonie (sp?). And I bet you will be ask to come out ASAP. If you have any questions let me know.

Tony

Yes, call and follow up with your resume. If you are unable to talk directly to Jonie, then leave her a voice mail. Then keep following up until you actually talk to her. Pilot recruitment is difficult to get in touch with sometimes. Your time/experience should definitley get you an interview.
Good luck!

online app

I just got an email that pretty much says HIRE as many and as much people as possible. PDX can't keep a pilot to save their lives.

the online app is obvious.... fill it out!

After you fill out the online stuff, give em a call. You will be interviewed ;)

So what's wrong with PDX that people don't want to stay there?

A long time ago when I was in the NW, I wanted to get on with Ameriflight so I wouldn't have to move but they didn't call me for an interview either. :bawling:

There is almost no turbine upgrade (very senior turbine base). At best maybe Be-99 reserve after about a year or a Be-99 outstation (of the three that come open, only one is any good, the other two mostly suck). Very few Metro or 1900 slots. Long reserve shifts, no specials. Better schedule than some bases though.

I transferred after six months there for a turbine upgrade, but I enjoyed my time there. The PA31 runs were cool and there is a lot of variety. The people there were good. I would've stayed if there were more/better turbine runs. Portland is a cool city.

fill out the online application and call joni. I hit 1200tt called joni on a Tuesday and five seconds later I had an interview on Friday for a class starting on Monday . Good luck!

Well I don't have much to do. Without embarassing myself more then is necessary I work or I'm at home. You can fill in the rest.

JD, Do the online app. That is a "must have". The rest of the stuff (calls, emails, mailed resumes) just shows more interest and speeds things up. But if you don't have an online app in, you won't get called.

PM me if you have other questions.

Don't listen to Buff. The company hasn't let him fly in months.

That's alright, SK just offered me your spot.

I wish Citabria, but I think he is just screwing with me. No one from my intervew group has heard anything yet. Starting to think that just like some people have a face for radio, I've got people skills for boxes. Trust me, if I hear good news I'll keep you informed.

Hey JD,

I think they are backed up pretty good with resumes in BUR, if you don't get an answer call the base manager or ACP directly. I know in PDX they have at least 3 openings for B-99 pilots, and 1 for a Metro at outstations, and they will hire straight off the street from the base if you have some expiereance, turbin not required. So if your willing to live for 6 months in Redmond, Or. or La Grande, Or, you can start out in a B-99. Easier to learn the B-99 than the PA-31 anyway. Once again if you don't get anywhere in BUR call PDX and ask for the base manager or the ACP 800-782-2170, they will get you an interview and get you started the same day.

Good Luck JD !

somebody has to start the AMF to SWA parade back up again.

They just hired one of the DFW reserves, and there was another 'pipe driver in my group from PHX.

AMF to SWA

they just hired (a month ago) a BUR system wide TDY guy. He did have military experience though.... eh well.
