From what I've gathered so far in the flight training is once your done with your 5 sims. Which by no means are easy either! Well except 5 is a pushover but yea.

You'll move into the aircraft and my friend and i who are both BUR based never did an ouce of online training (which is flying routes). We did all offline. What you'll do is just start flying, just like you did during your flight training. And be prepared to have you ego destroyed, the sim and flight training is not easy! you'll start off probably on a VFR flight then work into practice IFR stuff then actual IFR flights. depends on what the instructors wants to do.

But for now don't even worry about it, enjoy your day tommrow full of paperwork! hehe then 3 days of cramming then test on friday.
 
the test is mostly far/aim and some crap that bob talked about during the week. the sims arent hard as long as you know your flows cold. flight training is hard because you have to get used to the standard ameriflight 12-16 hour day. Ive been here 6 months and Im still adjusting. I took my 135 checkride with bob....good times.
 
i wouldn't sweat the test too very much. you'll see what i mean when you start class. are they not doing online training anymore for the pa31's? it used to be that you'd fly a real run with a training captain, and then do offline training during the middle of the day at the layover. that was true with the 99 as well.
 
It depends. I did all of mine offline at my base and never even got an LTQC. I guess that's kind of uncommon though.
 
They are still doing LTQC's for the PA-31's just that a few of us that just went through never did any online training.

Oh tony don't sweat the test all you'll need is the FAR/AIM really for reference and you'll be golden.
 
The online training vary's from base to base, the reason why there can or is no online training is because alot of the training captains for the PA31 they have are either part 91 only or they are flying a run in a 99/metro/brazilia and it's kind of hard to teach somebody how to fly a chieftain while riding in a 99.

Online/offline is the preferred method, but with the movement/turnover it is probably pretty hard to keep the proper people doing what they need to do.

I wouldn't sweat the test but by no means take that to assume that it will be very easy. There was a bunch in my class when I went through indoc who "didn't sweat it" and out of 23 people one quarter failed the indoc test. Groundschool is the firehose airline concept, there is alot of information that is only covered once, some of it is old but a good ammount of it is new.

Come with a good work ethic, long days, firehose concept and continualy being challenged and you will be fine.
 
Hiring & Minimums?

I currently talked with a pilot who said that Ameriflight was looking for pilots. Can you tell me if they are firm on the 135 mins, or can I get an interview with a 1023TT?
