I heard that someone said they even if you based Dallas you will most likely be based at an outstation,is this true for all bases?

generally speaking it is true. a good portion of the pilots live at the outstation. some exceptions would be for reserve pilots, and for pilots on bank type runs that start and end at the same place without much of a layover. at dfw all the pilots are outstationed except the reserves, and two of the chieftain drivers.

sorry, i'm not very familiar with those two bases. i do know phx has places like flagstaff, albaquerque (sp?), and several other shorte runs, but i'm very sure about burbank.

probably 85-90% of them. most runs depart the base between 5:30 to 7am arrive at the layover and remain there until the evening launch between 6:30 to 7:30 pm. it varies with the run and number of legs ofcourse. there are some day runs out there, but most that i have encountered have tended to be bank runs. day cargo runs are kinda in short supply.

So if you live at an outstation you would leave in the morning depart to your base, layover then fly home at night depending on how many legs?

What do you guys pay?

Actually just the opposite. Most outstation runs (at least in the turbines) operate Mon night through Sat morning. You fly out in the evening, spend the night at the base city, then home in the morning. Very few of our runs operate back side of the clock, mainly just the Lears and some of the west coast bank runs between PDX, OAK, and BUR. There are also a couple Metro runs from PHX to BUR and LAX that run late night/early morning. You're mostly looking at a day layover for the bank runs and a night layover for the outstationed package (DHL and UPS) runs.
