Is it possible to get hired right into the turbine equipment as PIC?
Also what bases are typical for a new hire to get, or does that just matter on what they need when they hire?

It is possible, although not too common to get hired right into a turbine PIC position. I know they have certain requirements for those positions, which include a lot of previous turbine PIC experience.

In most cases, newhires are interviewed at the base they are applying for. For example if you live in Portland, or around that area, you will most likely be interviewed in Portland for a Portland position. If you don't live anywhere near an AMF pilot base, then they will place you based on their need at the time. A lot of newhires seem to get Oakland or Burbank since they have a larger number of aircraft and more movement compared to some other bases.

according to the 19Jan posting on climbto350 you can as long as you have 2500TT, 1000 multi, and 500-750 turbine :)

AMF SA227 Pay/Bases

I've been searching -- can't find any numbers...

What's a ballpark figure for starting captain's pay in the SA227 w/ AMF? I'm sure it depends on the run, however, just looking for an average. Also, where are the junior Metro captains generally getting based?

What are the chances of getting into the Brasilia? Looks as if they only have around 9 or so -- probably too senior an aircraft to hold out for? Lastly, are they running all the turboprops w/ two pilot crews?

1. approx 34K

2. Off the street captains are going to CVG to fill slots that they could not fill in-house.

3. Emb- No chance

4. 2 pilot only about 10 percent of the time, tops.

Oh yeah, there is one more place people who cant figure out the difference between the aviation industry, their a$$, and a whole in the ground end up... MANAGEMENT

I swear if Gary Hart gives me any more paper work to do I am going to drop a bowling ball on his office. j/k

SpiffAv8,

Hold your bowling ball-after finishing my TDY stint in PDX (2-13-2004) I was in dispatch and read a memo stating that Gary Hart has tended his resignation.

Hmmmm!

Anyone know or care to speculate as to whether this was voluntary or under duress?
