The best outstation run at AMF has got to be San Angelo-Austin. It's a Metro (recently upgraded from 99) that starts Monday evening and finishes on Friday morning. Long weekend and layovers are in Austin. Pretty sweet gig.

I know the guy that flies that now, and loves it. There's also a UPS run out of sacramento thats not as good as the Austin run, but better than most outstations. It operates almost like a bank run...monday thru friday, show around 6am home by 7pm. MHR-EKA (with a stop in RDD on monday mornings) Its the only UPS run I know of that operates like that. Easy to fill internally though, and whoever takes it usually does it for a while.

I was in Be99 training last month with a guy that was going to be outstationed in Sacramento. I assume that he was taking that run. I imagine the good outstation runs get filled internally. It's the Visalias that go to people new to the company, or short of the required hours. If you go to the right station you will not need to move to upgrade.

Yes sir 1946 is a hard posiion to fill. Its always Below mins up there, stay in BFL til lthe weather clears, If it clears! Remember a couple of times on a Sat. Pilot departed ONT 0730, VIS reporting 1\8 OVC001 he had to land in BFL and wait it out. Only problem was it never cleared, We decided he could leave the plane there and his wife would come pick him up in BFL (He lived in BFL anyways he just made the commute VIS-BFL)

Also what no one metitions is while your at the ONT Layover there are also 2-3 other pilots there, sometimes 4.

barracuda in wondering if that was you who was in BFL.

Cant wait to see the former pilot in a metro, those who know her, you know what I mean.
