Does anyone have the following info for America West: ??

1) Chief Pilot's name
2) Is the CP's office at PHX, or at the building next to Mill Ave?
2) Telephone # for H.R. (not the AWA-4JOBS #, but a # where there's a real person on the other end)
3) Who would be a good person to speak with in H.R.

I just interviewed with AWA and one of the 737 IP's conducting the sim eval said they aren't even looking at furloughed guys right now (this came up in our little chat since I had just gotten off a 9 month furlough in Sep 2002).

In my opinion, this could be different if you know some folks at AWA and they could write LORs for you. Those LORs are a HUGE factor in who gets selected.

I would say give it a shot, AWA is one of a handful of decent airlines that is hiring and it's not expected to last very long.

Right now it is really looking like you need to know folks there. I heard the picking order is:

1) People who have worked at America West. i.e. as a ramper, dispatch, something.

2) Family members

3) Friends with LOR

4) Anyone else

With the amount of hiring they plan on doing they may not get past #2.

I know they just completed a round of interviews in the past couple of weeks.
