I have heard that the position may still be open and the pay starts at around 50k. While you are there drop a resume at the neighbors (GE)

I'm not trying to dampen your enthusiasm for these 2 companies, but quite honestly, if you don't have an inside connection, your chances are slim. It never hurts to try though. Good luck.
