Here are the two emails I received today. ALPA is promising that the resolved issue is far better then what we could of hoped for in arbitration. If so this is very good news for all of us at Eagle.
First Email
Fellow American Eagle pilots:

The MEC convened in Euless, Texas today to review the companies’ last proposal on settling outstanding Letter 3 grievances. The following resolution was drafted and ratified:

The Negotiating Committee is directed to inform American Eagle Airlines, American Airlines, and the Allied Pilots Association that it will proceed with preparation of contract language based on American Eagle management’s last offer to the Air Line Pilots Association.

The Grievance Committee is directed to notify Arbitrator LaRocco to postpone consideration of the grievances until after the ratification process is complete.

More information will be forthcoming following a meeting between the four parties on communicating the tenets of the tentative agreement.

MEC Vice Chairman

Second email.
Fellow Eagle ALPA Pilots:

You may have received word today that the MEC voted to pursue the route of a Tentative Agreement in the Letter 3 Settlement Discussions.

We are acutely aware of the interest level of our pilots concerning this matter, as the issue affects so many of our pilots in many ways.

Please allow us to coordinate with the APA, American Eagle and American Airlines management in order to release more information. This is a matter of protocol and courtesy to the other parties.

Thank you for your understanding. We will be working intensely to put together a presentation of the key concepts of the proposed TA, as well as a question and answer page. We have developed a web based method of receiving your comments and questions, and will be activating that web page soon.

When the concepts are released, please keep in mind that due to time constraints, we are just now entering the phase of crafting final language. We will encourage you to review the material thoroughly, but please resist the urge to jump to conclusions without first clarifying your questions with your LEC status reps, or the MEC office.

Again, thank you for your continued support and unwavering unity throughout this process.

MEC Communications Chairman

We just found out, all furloughed return first.

You heard it here first......:)
I am kind of thinking that is what we gave on. Good news for those of us who are newer here. I am betting that in exchange for that every Eagle pilot will be issued an AA number.
MD80, you have the email issued from APA?
This will keep the upgrades coming fast at Eagle and should help in the recruitment.

Not everyone received numbers. In addition to the original guys with numbers, an additional 250 or so will get put at the bottom of the list. That's what I heard anyway.....

I dont know about that. But time will tell, either way with a min of 250 additional numbers, 140 flowbacks left and 15 with numbers that thats 805 Captains leaving.

well i hope this isn't the case. I think we might have received a better ruling if we went to arbitration.

Of course as we all know, not matter what happens we will still have people getting upset and probably even try to file grievences. You'll see... FTs go before TWA guys all hell breaks lose! FTs go after TWA guys all hell breaks lose!!

i'm guessing that 250 stops at the Eagle MEC leadership level........

I am guessing that there is more then 250. I am not sure where he got that number from. You know what they say about rumors.

I've heard varying things, but the general consensus is no numbers for anyone an FO come 5/1/2008. This doesn't really have a positive impact on upgrade times for a while, unless the bypass rate for furloughees junior to the bottom flowback skyrockets (to the tune of 1 in 10 or so). It'll generate movement, but unfortunately not for another year to a year and 1/2. Remember, there are approximately only 150 or so flowbacks left, and the possible parking of aircraft due to staffing could reduce the number of captain vacancies.

If what I hear is true it will really be a shame for our late 2000 and 2001 hires. All that time in the right seat and they'll have nothing to show for it (I'm a 2004 hire btw).

starscream so what you are saying is for anyone who is a current pilot will get a number?
What he is saying is that anyone who is a CA, complete with IOE on May first will have a number.
Still all just speculation.

Again, there has not yet been any details given by the union or the company......just that there is a tentative agreement.

However, when you get consistent hear-say (sp?), it's usually fairly accurate. And the word on the line right now is...............

1. All furloughed APA pilots recalled once (i.e. they go through the current list once)

2. Seniority numbers for all RJ (again RJ, not prop) captains that complete jet CA IOE prior to 5/1/2008 (flowthru agreement's expiration date).

3. These seniority numbers will not expire.

4. Pay issues for the flowthrus settled (no $70k/yr paycut to go to AA).

5. Everyone else (prop CAs and all FOs) after 5/1/2008.......well they get the continued appreciation of the company for their willingness to sling gear for McDonald's manager wages for soooooo long.

Again, I am not presenting factual information. The announcement that an agreement has been reached only came in our boxes this morning. However, there are always guys who leak the info, and this is what's spread to the line in just a few short hours.

True..........arbitration could have resulted in letter 3 strictly being "null, void, and of no further effect" (i.e. NOBODY flows, number or not) following expiration.

Poor little FT's.........all dressed up and nowhere to go.

Did you honestly think one FT would go to class before every AA MAINLINE Furloughed pilot is recalled?

i still don't see why ALPA would go for this, if it is true. The only one that this is good for is ding, ding, ding, APA. This even hurts AE mgmt. whatever.

I guess no one (ALPA or AMR) wanted to roll the dice with the arbitrator.

The bullet points we got said none of those with numbers now will be forced to flowthrough.

They didn't set a date of expiration (that I saw) for Sup W/Letter 3. I also didn't see a higher starting pay rate for FT's (second or even third year was mentioned).

As usual, we'll have to wait and read the ENTIRE agreement to see who got the short end. TC
