Fighting a war....?
I spent many years in that God aweful area, my acft came back with many a bullet hole, I even lost an engine to small arms fire in 1991.
Being around these people is a very different experience for those of us here in the US. Their whole way of life, their 4000 year heritage of religion is their whole life. No one can be trusted fully, they can be your best friend one day then look to kill you the next because of what some one said to them or what they heard.
IMHO, Iraq and the whole middel east is a war that we can not win, for them, its a way of life to flight, kill and do what they feel is right at the time. Life does not mean the same thing to them as it does to us. WE ARE KIDDING OURSELF if we think we are going to bring democracy to them, they dont see it the same as we do, so they dont cherish it like we do. For them, we are like a sickness that need to be killed, we dont fit in......
The war on terror, again IMHO, need to be fought right here on our own soil and out to sea several hundred miles.....Our Borders need to be fully protected, spend the Billions here to protect us and our neighbors.
This war has gone on for a long time, it only came to our shores because we allowed it to happen with our wonderful lifestyle, I dont know about you out there, but I see our liberties being eroded every day as a result of this so called war, and I dont like it, but it's here to stay and going to get rougher. I say leave the middel east to there own ways, find alternative fuels and less dependance on the Middel east for fuels....

These people dont even know a place exists let alone the rules that were adopted there many years ago.
What our guys and Gals did in that prison served no purpose but to inflame a situation that was already out of hand. An american will not be safe anywhere in that area for years to come. They will do this over and over again, because they know this is the worst thing they can do to piss us off, they simply dont care about human life...its as expendable to them as cows are to us!
The mafia of old cant hold the jock straps of these people when it come to violence in the name of God, at least the mafia had standards!
We need to get out of there before someone goes nuke happy and then its all over!

Unless you have lived among them you cannot possibly understand their culture.
I spent a fair amount of time in Jeddah, on several different occasions.
About one hundred yards from our hotel was the public execution square where they beheaded people once or twice a week.............
Democracy is so foreign to their culture it is laughable to even think they will accept it.

Ok i just watched the video, i highly reccomend that no one else does, i am absolutely sick to my stomach. Until this exact moment I did not support the Iraq war. Now I hope to god that we kill every single last one of those bastards, honest to god, i hope that we torture the hel! out of those cocsukers. I am absoultely appauled at what these people are willing to do in the name of religion.
Do not watch the video, I am not going to be able to sleep for a month. By the way, it was not an easy death like some of you guys were saying, I feel completely awful for the family of Mr. Berg, the fact that this thing is out on the internet is horrible.

How could you expect a guy who takes some sort of pride in having an alcohol sopped brain from having anything remotely bordering on having an intellectual component to it?
