It's been about a week since I last talked to the gals in the recruitment/selection office and this might be old news: The class that was slated for 10 March has been cut back to 2 (from 10), and the class on 31 March (mine) has been slid back to 21 April and it will be all Airbus. There was no discussion of interviews.
I recently heard from a line Captain that the 21 April class will be the last for a while and that interviews are still being conducted. I don't know where he got his information, but this is what he said he "heard" so take it with a grain of salt.
Sorry, I couldn't even venture a guess as to the size of the pool. I'm out of the country usually 2 weeks each month, so I haven't been keeping real close ties to the folks in the recruitment/selection department.
latest AWA news.....class of 2 on march 10, class of 10 on april 21.....and there are 28 in the pool waiting for classes after that....still interviewing i think.....whether they have more classes depends on the war and the new TA passing or not passing...not sure on which is good for hiring.
America West takes the application fee from furloughed pilots and then sends a letter saying that they are not going to interview you at this time. What a racket! ATA does the same thing. What ever happened to honor?
Oh well, I guess I just eat the 50 bucks or whatever it was, and chalk it up to experience. Between the application fees and having "too much experience for a g-**CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** turboprop job I guess I'll change my career path. Should have become a lawyer or airline CEO.
