Any Aloha or Island Air guys have recommendations for an Aviation Medical Examiner in Honolulu? Also, prices if you know them.

Jack Scaff. 80 bucks minus the silver dollar he'll give you. He doesn't work as much these days as he used to, but he's still available. Call and check on his availability. Don't see Dr. Young in his absence, however.

Dr. Tamura isn't bad if you can handle the lonnnnng conversations. Give yourself an hour and half for that one.

I can play doctor on request as well.

How much do you charge?;)

I saw Dr. Scaff several years ago. Great guy !!

Dr. Tamura is good, but have some time for an ear-full!!! He's right there on Lagoon Drive, where Air Molokai is.

Hugh...

What's wrong with Dr Young? He really helped me getting my Class 1 back after major surgery. I had no qualms with him.

Out...

I got a physical from him myself, and for me, it was no problem. However, I've heard he has a trigger finger for taking said medical away. I believe it after what I witnessed while waiting for my appointment with him. He has a hotline straight to OKC, it seems and he's on it in a flash. Half the reason I had to wait an extra hour to see him was that he was on the phone with OKC discussing his other patients of the morning and whether they should keep flying or not. One of them was a poor chap who was sitting on the bench next to me thinking he might be done flying. It also concerns me when I can easily hear what should be private conversations about other patients. I was quite relieved to find him in a hurry by the time he got to me that day-who knows what he might have tried to down me for. I was genuinely concerned for my ticket, and I'm a pretty healthy guy. Between what I've seen and what I've heard, I would give him a wide berth.

I've heard similar stay-away stories about Dr. Young.

practice EKG?

anyone recommend a place where I can get a "practice" ekg? Need to get my Class I and I'm over 35. Better safe than sorry ;)

thx.
