Stiffy,

I've never even set foot yet in a helo yet. I would like to learn to fly one one of these day. Anyhoo, dream on!

This is still a fantastic career, where else can you get paid $100K per doing something you like to do. But if you focus on success as being defined as a job at SWA or FedEx you may end up being disappointed.

Tonala2k,

Will you be making $100K at your new job? According to yip, you should be raking in six figures any minute now.

Six figures are going to be hard to find unless you are able to fly packages for one of the big cargo airlines.

Sad thing is 4000 hours isn't much time, it isn't even competitive to move on. In this day and age most regional CA's have much more time than that. The days of going on to a "career" airline with the "min" requirments are long gone.

It might not be much time...but I disagree that it is not competative...It may not be where you work, but some places look at what kind of time it is(ie PIC turbine, Jet, T-prop, etc).

I am not Military but I know a lot of those guys/gals only have a couple thousand hours. Are they not competitive?

BTW...it seems as if many companies are figuring out that once you have a certain amount of time in Jet A burning equipment, its all about attitude and other qualifications(ie college degree, type of flying, and how you interview).

No flame....just illustrating a point.

My $0.02,

WHO you know gets you the interview.
WHAT you know gets you through the interview.

Everything else is just nice filler stuff for your profile on some lame message board. :D

Great point...that is probably the MOST important thing.

Marry and older gal who is rich, has a bigger chest than you, and have her buy you a P-51D.

I'll have 5000 or 6000hrs and will still be an FO.

I know FO's at my airline that have many more then that having been furloughed from many different airlines.

What's the problem?
i know a guy at american that has 9000 tt and is still an fo!! and thats his only airline too!

Marry a rich older gal with an average chest...then buy the upgrade size you like. And go with an F4U. Radials rock!

What is priceless is that you have 4000 hours and are still an FO.HAHA
Oh boy, hahaha indeed. Let's see, I've got 14,000 or so hours and am still an FO (CAL). You gonna laugh at me too?

You silly kids who make comments like that crack me up... like 4000 hrs is high time. I hate to sound like a crusty old fart, but back in the early 90's it took 4-5000 hours just to get hired into the right seat of a 1900/Metro/Jetstream.

Dream on, huh? Do me a favor, please tell the SWA interview committee that you think their benefits are lacking like you did last week on here. I'm sure you'll make a great impression on them like you have to so many people on this thread.

With all do respect to all other FOs in the world. My previous comment was pointed specificly to Mr. Stiffy who work at DCI and has not yet upgraded (he should've been able to with his seniority), but is all talks and knows it all. This has nothing to do with any other FO on this planet! Stiffy, get up or get out and shut up! Looser

Sorry, but a furlough and on a second airline, my seniority won't hold a Capt. slot at ASA. Any other lame comments from yourself?

Did I really strike that big of a nerve with the hypocrite statement? Guess so. :crying:

Notice you changed your avatar from a Delta Connection CR700 this time. Your nonverbals in this thread speak volumes of your (lack of) class.
