Do you charge hourly or per post?:D

I've actually put a scope clause on her b/c I don't want any other senior members to use her and degrade the forum. My union, Everybody Loves Pilot's Avatars (ELPA) tells me this is the best way to handle the situation, and that I should only allow junior posters to use her.

The only problem is, all these junior members have started a bidding war to get the avatar-share. I might just go to a Pay-For-Posting (PFP) set-up, but my fellow posters seem to feel only posters with no respet for the forum would ever enter a PFP scheme.

I've even had a couple guys use her after I (and ELPA) asked them to stand with me in solidarity and refuse to post dribble just for the opportunity to post. I've decided to call the guys who do this 'scabs', and I'll be circulating a master list of them shorty. I ask all posters who encounter a post by a scab to refuse to read it, reply to it, or PM the poster. :)

-Boo!

Yes, down with the PFP's lets burn them at the stake!! Or better yet you should set up a different, yet suspiciously similar, parent company. Then tell your fellow posters they are banned from further posting unless they want to come work with your evil twin company that charges twice as much.;)

Great post guys!
I'm "still" in a similar boat. I am going for my CFI-I next week to start flying again. I've spent most of the summer sending out resumes/cover letters to outfits in Michigan area, and most tell me they are not hiring til the fall. So I have been kind of discouraged, but I need, NEED, to get back in the cockpit. Im not making any progress sitting at a desk job.

Keep your chin up. I know its hard. I'm 25, and most of my buddies are engineers, with good jobs, and I sometimes feel like I am way behind. But hey, this is a tough industry. There will be days when nothing goes right (finding a job) but one day something will pop up.

who do you know?

With low flight time, you need to pretty much know someone to bypass flight instructing. I have never met anyone in the pipeline patrol or traffic business that did not have connections with the owner before getting employed by them. I worked for a crop dusting company for a few summers, but my in was knowing the owner. There are many banner towing companies out there but they usually want you to PAY THEM for the training.
I think that CFI time is worth it's weight compared to other ways.
If you work for a school/charter company you can easily make your way into the right seat of a barron or king air.
