Oil is at $40+ per barrel. What is the prospect for airplanes that run on hydrogen, or some other form of alternative fuel?

How long do these price spikes tend to last, anyway?

What will the industry look like if oil stabilizes at 40, 50, or 60 dollars per barrel?

Trying not to worry too much about stuff I can't control, but these high prices are a bummer just when airlines and the economy were set to boom again :(
