I just spoke with a friend of mine in the training department and he told me Atlas canceled the 3 classes they had planned for the first part on next year.

He gave no reason. Although everything is subjet to change.

Not that I know anything, but if I was guessing, I would bet it has to do with the merger talks.

Here's one for you, UPS senior management said recently that UPS was not finished with aquiring additional freight forwading companies, and there are rumors here of UPS again interested in Polar/Atlas. They are probably most interested in Polar's route authority and the -400s.

Hey, wait. You can't buy them. We're supposed to buy them.

Or, is this some sort of trickery? UPS feigns interest in Atlas so FredEx has to pay more? Hmmmm

Or, what about the rumor that Fred already owns, personally, a huge share of Atlas. Would that mean that Fred would wind up owning a piece of Buster Brown?

Hmmmm These Holiday Rumors are so much fun!

:)

I don't think the classes were cancelled. I believe they are on hold because this is the busy season and all of the instructors are out flying. I would look for classes to start up in January.

Hey UPSer, maybe if anything happens, we'll give you a preferential interview. ;)

God help those Polar pilots if that's true. Given UPS' track record I would bet that those affected Polar pilots will be on the street.

What track record would you be referring to?

What about Challenge? UPS bought Challenge's route authority, not the airline portion.

Please.

UPS has always acquired routes, airplanes, ops that were developed on the backs of others including but not limited to pilots. I don't know why it's just the way they do it. And they love flipping the proverbial middle finger to the crew members. There's much history just start with Orion and work your way down.

Don't want to argue. Good luck to all.
