With Alpa Nationals seemingly indifference to there own By Laws and Constitution. The likelihood of voting fraud is a very real concern. With ALPA Vice President of Administration Capt. Paul Rice , Matt Kernan, President Duane Woerth along with unnamed Alpa attorneys endorsing and encouraging illegal voting and the recommendation to abrogate a 20 CBA it raises very legitimate questions of integrity. Anyone would be a fool to trust this pile of steaming sh~t. Voting fraud happens all the time. To electronically or thru paper ballot send a vote to Herndon is analogous to having Micheal Jackson baby sit your children. Who knows after the California Attorney General finishes with Micheal Jackson he might tackle Duane Woerth and his band of players. He will be well prepared, the arguments from Woerth will be the same as Jackson's. Its just that Duane doesn't smile and giggle as much. Does anyone know what this fellow Matt Kernan's title is with Alpa National. How was he appointed or elected?

Why don't you lead a drive to decertify ALPA and start your own in-house union?

To send a vote to Herndon would be stupid, since ALPA uses an Independent Company to administer voting: BallotPoint

So, what's your next red herring?

they'll prolly ask us to chop down the mightiest tree in the forest with it

but it's painfully evident that regional airlines need to give alpa their walking papers and form our own union, but i know how hard it is getting just a few hundred pilots in one group to agree on something.
I can't imagine how hard it would be to get a majority of alg, pdt, psa, eagle, comair, asa, aca, mesaba, coex, etc pilots to all come together against woerthless and his hired goons.

I can.

Leave ACA out of it. We are quite happy with our involvment with ALPA and ALPA Nationals support. We drive our own bus.

As far as voting fraud, find a new conspiracy theory to justify your own doom and gloom. Perhaps you should have the ALPA bio implant removed. ALPA voting results are certified by ALPA line pilots that put thier reputation on the line. Are you calling these professionals into question. Did you even know about this process?

Never heard a complaint from PDT or ALG during the 90's. He11, PDT and ALG were the regionals to get hired by....they were the best. SO was Usair, and Pan Am, and Eastern and.....damm you get the point..Here is my cut n paste....

So typical is the ALPA pilot who during the 90's boom (any economic boom really) who enjoyed the good times and disregarded his LEC/MEC war chest. When the blue juice hit the fan, suddenly blame must be placed and no one better than the chump that charged out of the foxhole.

Angry pilots finally attend LEC meetings and call elected reps that they never voted for because they never bothered to participate in the election. ALPA volunteers have to spend days, weeks and months, calming down ignorant and angry pilots, educating them on ALPA policy, affairs, protocol, structure and politics.

Indifference within ALPA is one of the Association’s greatest problems. From Flying the Line, Vol. 1, page 227:

Inevitably, a new generation arrived made up of pilots less steeped in the past struggles and more content about the professional status ALPA had created for them. The new generation was also increasingly indifferent to ALPA and its administration. Pioneer pilots, by and large, paid close attention to ALPA affairs, and they couldn’t understand the lackadaisical attitude of the younger pilots, partically when it came to governance at the local level. By the late 1950s, many pilots simply took for granted that somebody else would do the hard work needed to sustain ALPA. While complacent pilots golfed or pursued second careers, a minority ran ALPA’s local affairs on each airline.

Although most of these individuals were dedicated to making ALPA work, on some airlines a few pilots used ALPA as a gimmick for personal aggrandizement. The indifference of the rank and file and the poor attendance at local council meetings meant that a minority on any airline could, with proper planning, seize control and eventually dominate the master executive council (MEC) itself. The danger was that a well-organized clique could speak for an indifferent majority of pilots.

ALPA isn't a silver bullet. It has problems, just like gov't, church and any organization. And one of the problems that you can control is your effectiveness as an ALPA member. Are you proactive or reactive?

Often one hears "how can ALPA National let this or that happen!!??" The response is "How I can deprogram this guy and reprogram him properly so he understands...or does he just want to be pissed?" Well angry & ignorant pilots are about as useful as Anna Nicole Smith (fat or regular sized...).

Did ALPA ruin Braniff, Pan Am, Eastern, TWA and others? 'Cause everything was cool until these carriers went tango uniform...

Sometimes your world craters and it is no ones fault or it's everyones fault. That's life...it happens. Pick up the pieces and move on. Sure it sucks, especially when you have a wife and kids. It is horrible, but what are we going to do? Go on the lawsuit war path? (maybe...maybe not..that is for you to decide)

I am not trying to devalue the situation, however, a basic, even simplistic, understanding of how the system functions is paramount.

Comments...??

I wasn't around for this 'boom' I've only seen nothing but poor treatment, and just because it was good once, doesn't justify what they're doing now, and I don't know anything about any voting fraud so don't put any words in my mouth, I wasn't supporting or even commenting on that particular issue, just throwing out something else for discussion.

To blindly believe that a voting process is incorruptible is your choice. To be ignorant of past practices in the Union business is defined as moronic. Some people have a hard time facing reality. Thats your choice, we see it every night on Television. Tony c. please strap on that satchel charge and defend Duane with your ignorance. The Association leaders will sponsor a golf tournament in your honor or commission a Award while they relax over a few wine spritzers. With your reasoning Alpa has a position for you. You might start out polishing the knobs in Herndon but in no time you will be bending over, displaying your Alpa Administrators training.

Here's a link to the last Alpa National Indoc training class.

Good Luck Tony C. hope you make the next Indoc class photo expose'. The Association is always looking for new talent.

Sometimes I really wish we didn't hve closed shops. That way these guys could opt out of ALPA membership, and then negotiate their own pay, benefits and work-rules mano-a-mano with their CEO.

Guess who'll win every time?

OK, I see slander and personal attack comprise the essential elemsnts of your next red herring.

Bring it on - - if it makes you feel better.

Good grief.
