ALPA is better for Colgan pilots interests than Teamsters

Agreed, but what would really be serve the colgan pilots interests would colgan pilots taking a proactive role and coming together. Only after that may a successful union take form. It's unfortunate this has yet to happened, most are only concerned about what is cheapest and what their ego can handle.

Leggo that ego. The top 2 reasons for supporting teamsters is

1. PNCL is ALPA therefore ALPA will favor them in a seniority integration

PNCL ALPA CAN NOT force a seniority integration. Management is the only one that can do that. We all know that is going to happen sometime in the future. Teamsters will not likely do a bang up (very very expensive) job representing us in that situation considering the end result will be all CJC pilots becoming part of PNCL ALPA.

2. Teamsters is cheaper

Teamsters is cheaper. that is true. They also are not shouldering the burden of lobbying for pilots rights in DC. They are really not advocates at all for us. They don't provide nearly the quality of services.

Teamsters isn't trying to get rest regulations changed, scheduling practices, crew pass on and on. ALPA is the pilots union no Teamsters.

Why has Net Jets and UPS both dumped Teamsters? Why did Fed Ex go back to ALPA?
 
Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy are better for Colgan pilots' interests than Teamsters.
 
Sorry, I'm not expressing myself well this morning, and I don't want to needlessly stir the pot.

Continental, along with FedEx, also went back to ALPA after trying to go the independent union route. Evergreen also went to ALPA after being independent. And I think Capital Cargo recently certified ALPA as their first bargaining agent. If ALPA is good enough for FedEx, why wouldn't ALPA be good enough for Colgan?;)

I have YET to hear from ANY of the IBT organizers that they have fully investigated all the options available to them or fully understand (or give a rip) the RESOURCES that ALPA has. IBT purchases legal services from.... you guessed it! ALPA! Because THEY have the rescources to get it done. Period. Now, before someone takes that last comment out of context... a union is only as strong as the members in it.... all 500 on the our Sen list better get a spine. NOW. Or it won't make a damn bit of difference. Thats a fact, regardless or WHAT fence you me sit comfortably on...

Cappy actually had an independent union prior to ALPA. They realized that it wasn't working and asked ALPA to come in. If memory serves, they had something north of 90% in favor of ALPA.

The bottom line is that your company was bought out, whether you like it or not, and it's in your best interests to get ALPA on property ASAP. The Colgan pilot group turned ALPA done once, don't make the same mistake again.
 
You guys couldn't staple us if you really reallly really really really really really really really wanted to. so stop talking this crap already and help us get ALPA by using good substantive arguments in alpas favor
 
Can we please stop talking about staple-jobs? Nobody is getting stapled. Period. Why continue to bring up that argument?
