Heard from a friend today that's at Allegiant, and the rumor there is they are looking at buying Aloha now that they are in bankruptcy. The rumor there is that it gives Allegiant ETOPs, and access to Hawaii that their CEO wants.

Anybody heard anything about this?

Aloha is in more than bankruptcy right now. They just announced today that they're closing their doors to passenger service after 60+ years of service. It's really a shame.

I know our CEO has thought about Hawaii service for a while, but the MD-80 can't go from the mainland to the islands. Perhaps they're thinking about doing the interisland service that Aloha had. I know that Allegiant doesn't like to compete, so I doubt they'd want to go head to head with Go Airlines and their pricing strategy.
So far I think it's just a rumor.

There is NO such rumor at Allegiant. Any "rumor" your friend heard was probably said tongue in cheek.

With oil at 100+, we're going to need to hold on to our cash.

I highly agree. It is better to be a bit prudent with cash right about now.
