Some people work hard to get what you call a joke in writing and enforced.

How much different do you think your work rules will be when/if a union is brought in?

Well said. At my last union carrier, people were told to 'do it or turn in your badge'. You could grieve it if you wanted to, but the grievance process was a joke and was behind by a margin measured in years. Management had a complete 'give a shiznit' attitude. THAT was a #$%^& joke...worse yet, it was a joke the union members had to pay for.

Our compliance folks do a great job and work very hard to ensure our work rules are followed. In addition, they are working hard to create the new rules that we'll need as we continue to grow as a company. Due to their persistance and diligence, management has been forced to step up and make this a better place--for ALL of us.

We're a new and growing company that, besides some challenges and obstacles, do better than the 'old, bitter, and confrontational' airlines I've worked for in the past.

Be careful what you wish for...and let's give credit where credit is due.
