Anyone know anything about this Airline Transition Course that ATP is now advertising. 60 days for 24,995? What kind of success are the graduates having getting a job out of this program?

The students are having a 100% success rate of being 24,999 dollars in debt. The rest, I don't know.

Back in the day, it was the best value going. I paid around 25k, started with a private, and had my MEII in about 85 days. Instructed for 3-4 months, and got hired. Had I gone to say Flight Safety, I would have spent twice the money and taken twice as long. While I was in training for the Brasilia, the equivalent Flightsafety student would have just finished his ratings. It's by no means as organized as Flightsafety. It's the typical firehose way of learning. Seniority is everything.

FLYASA, the course he is asking about is different from the Airline Career Pilot course that you are talking about. they have a new AIrline transistion course that gives you some glass cockpit time in a katana or something, and a CRJ FTD course along with some multi-time.

Yes, it's the transition course I'm asking about. Time building 100hr plus RJ sim. Friends kid is looking into it and asked me if I had heard anything. I know ATP is a great school so I can't imagine this being a bad program. Alliances with several commuters apparently.

Can't help with info about AllATPs, but we don't use the "C" word here anymore to describe the airlines in alliance with the flight schools. Thanks

Where did the "C" word come from?!! Let's try REGIONALS...

I know several people that did it. They are all flying for regionals now.

The sad truth is that you will pay more for that couse than you will make for the first 2 years or more at most regionals. On the other hand if you (or he) have the cash to pay for it out right, consider a career change and become an MD, better return on your investment. I am used to being broke, so the regionals will be no big change in pay for me.

I am sure the program is fine. And i dont doubt that ATP will get you that "guarenteed interview". I am just saying you dont NEED it. Its a lot of money,If you money burning a whole in your pocket, do it. But if you have to pull a loan just to do it, I would think twice.
