Have not heard too much lately on what has been going on with youguys? Are things looking better there with US Airways gettingconcessions and what not? Also Is ALG still doing transitiontraining? The reason I ask that is I have 4 friends that gothired then ground school pushed back, so was wondering if they willmake it to training anytime soon? Thanks for the update!

Actually, this is a very good question. I was offered an interview back in December but they postponed it until the Alleghaney pilots were done with training. Not sure when that will be. Any news would be appreciated.

Interviewing and newhire training classes has been put off at PDT until the remaining ALG guys are trained for PDT (so I've been told). Also the extra flying that PDT/ALG was going to get before X-mas is now (most of it) going to PSA and MDA as the financing for 9 jets (6 E-170's and 3 CRJ700's).

From what I'm told it look as though the transition will be finished in March/April. I assume that after that hiring/classes will resume (at a smaller pace) as their will always be attrition.

If everything goes well with U by this summer MidAtlantic is supposed to resume deliveries of the remaining 85 ERJ-170/190's (the rest will most likely be E-190's, see last mainline pilot concessions). Thus guy from the CEL list (PSA/PDT) can choose to move to MDA. If this happens look for hiring at a rapid pace this summer at PDT.

But also keep in mind that at the end of 2005 some of the Dash8's remaing in the PDT fleet have leases that expire. Just like ALG in 2004 by the end of 2005 PDT will see a fleet reduction as leases expire. When the leased Dash8's are gone PDT will be left with the 8's that ALG owned and PDT owned - somewhere around 40 total. As of now there are no plans after that.

Thanks for the information. I was curious though, since the ALG folks also fly Dash-8's, what type of training are they getting (my guess would be PDT Standardization). If this is the case, what is the typical length of that sort of training (2 weeks, 4, ?). Thanks

not sure if this is correct, but i heard that USAir gave back the remaining options for the Embraers. It sounded as if it was part of their refinancing to get the new jets, that way Embraer can sell the planes right of way instead of them being tied up with airways. I heard this through the grapevine, not sure if it is acurate of not, any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

PDT Dashdriver

Im currently in training at PDT, was in the last new hire class of the year (Dec. 28th). Training dept. is really busy finishing up all the new hires and trans. the ALG pilots at the rate of 8 a week.

Feb. 14th (i think, not sure) is the next scheduled new hire pilot class.

Could be, never say never in this bizz. I do know for sure that there are 6 170's comming to bring the fleet up to 28. Like I said though if we do well or continue to improve I would thing we could get $$$ for jets. Airplane builders always want to sell...

I just heard from one of the guys in the PDT new hire pool. He has a classdate Feb 14 for new hires. Dont know if thats for real or not, but ifso looks like ALG transition is near to a end, or USair is feeling better?

Thanks for the information, perhaps I will get a call back soon then.
