I need some help, my Boss is getting ready to retire and has roots in AK and wants some info on an outfit that flys, or is it flies (Tony C, help me out here:) ), Learjets in the medevac mission up there.

He has flown the C-5, C-141, C-130, and is typed in the Lear 35.

I appreciate any info that anyone has on this subject.

Check with Guardian Air Ambulance--don't know where in AK they are, but they did have a Lear 35 position open a few months ago.

There is a lear operator that sits next door to Signature (in the blue hangar) but I can't remember their name.

Here is a list from Flight Web..

Those are the ones that list a Lear in their fleet.

It is my understanding that outfit has closed it doors. My boss went to look at them as a possible purchase, but they wanted way too much for it. At that time they only had a 25C and an early 35.

I'll be up there next week and will ask around if I have time (trying to fit in a hunting trip while there:D)

Airlift Northwest also has an aircraft based in anchorage I think.

Edited to remove link, I can't think of the web address right now.

I'd be disappointed if you didn't try to get some hunting or fishing in while up there!:) Gun or bow? Need somebody to carry your bags?:D

BTW, the "new" Mustangs are very nice. It'd be the only Ford I would ever buy!

Thanks for looking when you're up there.

The outfit in the blue hangar did indeed close up shop. F.S. Air is no more, and hadn't operated the Lears for quite some time.

They were operating a Citation on a medevac (along with a few planes carrying UPS/FedEx freight/adhoc charters), and that was absorbed by Security Aviation. It is my understanding that the new company (F Security ? :) ) has been purchased by someone who will continue to operate the Citation(s), and is possibly going to try to operate a G-2 or something for long haul medevac work to and from the far east. (And yes in the same blue hangar at the end of South Airpark Drive).

Guardian does (or did not too long ago) have a Lear 35, and they are based in Fairbanks, but have a King Air in Sitka as well.

There's also a Lear medevac operator flying in AK that is based in Washington somewhere, but I've forgotten the name.

Hope that helps someone! I got my freedom from F.S. Air this past winter, so my info might be a bit behind the times.

Dan
