I just want to thank all those who gave me iput for my alaska trip To recapp It was an excellent trip with your advice
Some highlights and input:
Due to wild fires Fairbanks was a bust Visisblity at Fairbanks airport 1 mile ( smoke) aside from that the highlights were Millinium Hotel deck( Great sea plane watching at hood) great food at the Peanut farm and a great deck had an awesome Buffalo burger with this special BBq sauce . Ate at the rice bowl - had a huge delectable steak. Fishing at Ships creek was fun sans scenery, Went to Kenai and landed over 20 salmon legally with 5 snagged ( all fish were returned to the water ) Also fished campbell creek - caught a few.Flew via air taxi to the glacier and landed in the water next to a glacier took over 100 digital photos of some awesome scenery.. saw wild turkey, wild sheep,Moose ,and a bear. Just want to say again thanks all for the invaluable input.Without it I would have had to trial and error my way around This info helped save me time and money !!! :) Vavso

Sounds like a good trip.

I'm surprised you actually went to the Rice Bowl.

Is that the tackiest place ever? Nice steak though....crazy.

<Why would ANYBODY want to set foot in the Peanut Farm? *gag*>
Errrmmmm, because it's one of the only places in town where you can have a burger and a beer for a decent price after a 0130 arrival back at base? There's a couple of places for way overpriced Burgters at that hour, and there's a bunch of places you can grab a beer before last call, but d@mn few where you can do both.

Hi I am vindicated

I am sending those photos to tha AK fish and game department for their input . Thanks for checking into it anyone interested in the wild turkey photos PM me Regards Vavso

Hi

I saw it on the road near the Russian River I am not sure if it was rte 1 or 9 If you see the photos you would probably recognize it . UPDATE response back by Wildklife dept and Turkey association:

Hi Charles,
You are correct, there are no indigenous turkeys in AK. It's probably someone's domestic stock that escaped. I've forwarded your message to Jeff Selinger, the area biologist for the Kenai. You never know what you'll find over there. Thanks for the photo and note.
Dave
Dear Charles,
Our biologists were skeptical that these birds were truly wild. In their opinions, it is doubtful that these turkeys could survive without assistance during the winter in the Russian River area. However, they do believe the birds may have been pen raised and released, and may be surviving on handouts. It’s pretty neat that you’ve found them!
