Those old grey haired side parted aviatior rayban wearn old timers probly got distracted while gripe'n about the spikey haired oakely wearn 20's something pilots fly'n the RJ infront of them...

Or could be someone got distracted play'n the repeater.......That'll happen

that sucks that that can happen but sea just renamed their runways do to a new one being built and maybe when you have been departing from the same airport for years you can just revert back tot he old runway numbers. this is why we should try hard not to become complacent.

The new 34L is not yet complete, but it is looking more like a runway everyday. I think they changed the name of the old 34L to 34C to avoid any confusion with the new runway. For quite a while there was a warning about not landing on the new runway area which at that time was a taxiway. Since the name change, I have not yet had to take off of 34C/16C. However, I have done it many times in the past when it was 34L/16R. I must say that I have to pay extra attention now. I can understand that we're not accustomed to listening for 34C on takeoff, and when taking off from Q just think 34R if we don't hear the word 34L. I'm glad there was not an accident.

Actually, people were landing on taxiway M which will not be the new runway. They haven't started pouring the pavement for the new runway. Taxiway M is not grooved, so when it rained it shone like a beacon and lured some pilots in. They are thinking that by renaming 34l/16r to center, that it will help to avoid some confusion. Apparently not.

Scary trend Alaska and Now Continental.. You and I both know the reason this is happening is due to the fact the pilots, sisters, brothers, 2nd cousins, ex wife's girlfriends, neighbor has to help clean the cabin at 190 rates.

Wait a minute, you mean I am only getting the 190 rate to help out and I am on the bus???? Ok, hold the phone here.

I stand corrected. The taxiway will not be the new runway, but it did look like one. I think it was T though. I do agree that they renamed 34L/16R to avoid confusion.
