For any Alaska Air guys/gals out there;

I was wondering what the QOL at your comapny was these days?

How are trips/ days off per month?

How long will it take to hold any sort of line in SEA?

Which is preferable 737 or MD 80?

Will having a 737 type hurt chances for an application in any way? I ask that because I have had one company in particular say it will hurt because there is only one airline out there that requires it for employment.

How many silver bullets do you need to have a realistic shot (if any?) or how does that whole deal work at AK?

Lastly, does someone with ~3000 TT, ~1700 PIC turb (P-3 & T-34) have a shot?

Thanks in advance I really appreciate everyone's time!

Lets see you are a Navy guy so the fact that the entire second floor/ hiring department is run by the navy means that your chances are real good....

QOL is about the same as any airline right now....very little stability/security so if you need it, that it is something to consider..

Average 13 to 14 days off a month...lines are built with very little productivity so they have to keep you on the road quite a bit(company problem not a union one)

In SEA on the boeing I think it is about a 4 year stretch on reserve which is a 5 on 2 off deal with mostly 2 hour call.

Boeing or MD I dont think it makes a difference, they are both have a pointy end and go up when you pull back.....

737 type, be prepared to talk about it....

Silver bullet is a good thing and so are letters of reccomendation from active line pilots that you have flown with.......

Over all the company will probably weather the test of time but right now it is a ship adrift with no rudder....Complete lack of ability in almost every level of leadership...classic case of the military guys busy trying to requisition paper clips and the civilian guys singing kumbaya......Hopefully the Board will recognize this and go out and get us a skipper......
