The LA base needs to get real and start doing the all-nighters out of LAX. If I hear one more LA based pilot say how unsafe they are......Let your boys/girls drop and start doing your job!! The other bases have been doing your work for years!! Oh yes, I am a seattle based reserve pilot. Be-aches!!

Or maybe LAX pilots aren't "company men" and are willing to follow the FARs and call in fatigued.

Please tell me which FAR's are being violated?? Are we not professional enough to be rested for our job! If not then go elsewhere. I am tired of the LA base not pulling their weight.

Kind of intersting how all the squabbing and merging is going on in the center and east part of the US while Alaska is silently kicking ass out west.

Nice job.

Think you spoke to soon, now you got them squabbling with each other...

Can't we all just get along!

KBB

Maybe they're all too busy surfing and staying out of the Perpetual 45 degree rainy days. Maybe you should grab a starbucks and drive around gig harbor to chill out.

I Don't live in the harbor...just tired of the excuses. But I hear the company will shrink both ANC and LAX. This is the company's way of "fixing" the problem. That's not good for anyone.

I think we have over 100 age 60+ guys and should have good retirements when they start to hit 65. Some guys are going earlier like 12 a year?

Age 65 numbers, current as of FEB2011. A few of these may have already left.

2012 - 1
2013 - 13
2014 - 30
2015 - 28
2016 - 44
2017 - 46
2018 - 43
2019 - 49
2020 - 55

full program

The returning furloughed pilots have been going through the full program since the Jan/Feb recalls. They had been on the street for over two years. The new instructors haven't had to wait until the fall to see all the events.

Unfortunately, there aren't any planned classes between now and the fall, so you are half-right.

Company should buy Sun Country, move assets to the west coast and get a jump on the staffing problems. Of course with a SLI staple.

I suggested that to the BCP. Told him we'd get 139 pilots. His answer? "We need 239."
