"At the company's annual shareholder meeting Tuesday in the Hotel Captain Cook, the chairman of their union admonished Alaska Air executives.
"Beneath our profits is a management team that has not demonstrated a willingness to share the success we helped generate," said Tom Crank, the union chairman, speaking into a microphone in front of the crowd of at least 100 people."

Captain Cook and Captain Crank. lol

Alaska is ALPA so they ratified the cuts they received, right??? What's the bitch? Your contract JUST became ammendable, right? So are you currently IN negotiations?

If so, what's with the picketing? Is the company refusing to come to the table? WAY more info is needed.

And one more thing, you can't get much more unprofessional than strapping your 10 month old infant to your picket sign. Get a freaking LIFE Melanie!

Ultra.. You obviously have no idea about the Kashtration the Alaska pilots recieved... This has been 2 years in the making. The pilots at Alaska agreed to binding mediation thinking that they would get a fair shake from a neutral party.. Wrong. The mediator gave the company even more than what the company was asking for. Then the company came back with a piss poor excuse at trying to make the Kashtration a little less hurtfull.... I'm glad the pilots are standing up and doing whatever it takes.. Even if that means bringing your baby to the picket line....

Hey, atleast she's out there, maybe no child care for the day! The union always invites the families to get involved!! It sounds to me you are just a Grouch!!!

Ultra,
Do 2 minutes of research before you open your yap next time. Sheesh. You just insulted 1500 of your fellow (ALPA or not) airline pilots.

Ahhh...binding arbitration.....'nuff said....

I pretty much view binding arbitration the same as gambling.

Live and learn.

Sorry

It's not a grouch, a picket line is nowhere for a 10-month old infant.

I support my pilot group 100%, but if I can't find daycare, my son and I watch barney.

I guess we agree to disagree,

Maybe you should read to your child instead of letting Barney babysit!!

-In negotiations following a baseball style award that cut pay by as much as 34% plus other work rules...this all while the company is making money. OBTW, we just posted our largest yearly profit ever, in 75 years of doing business. One other thing...the cuts (which now amount to bankruptcy wages) were immediate, ie: they took effect the day the award was announced, no time to make family adjustments. The difference between our cuts and the ones for the bankrupt carriers is that the bankrupt carriers pilots knew it was coming and had time to plan and make adjustments.

-That baby was also affected by the pay cuts. Those baby carriers are a touchdown. The fact that she came out to the event with her new baby speaks volumes about where this pilot group stands regarding the way the company has acted the last several years. I was impressed.

The reason why this industry is in the state it's in, is because of most of the pilots who have posted so far. At least Alaska pilots are fighting back, the rest of you rolled over and took it without a condom again and again and just moaned, so they thought you liked it. If you didn't do that, it was because of your greedy, cocky, short sighted attitudes landed you a wounderful job at Mesa, Pinnancle, Compass or any of the other places that are killing this industry so you can fly a shiny jet and go to the majors quickly. The only problem is your killing the good jobs you want at the majors by selling your self respect to get there..
Quite copping out of responsibilty, like babysitting your kid with the tv and man up, she did more then most of you ever will in your proverbial male life of manning up.
