This is also a priceless from the dumb blonde when trying to spin the cancellation of the employee survey:

The survey, which measures employee attitude and job satisfaction, has been held annually since 2002. “While the survey is extremely valuable in helping us identify and respond to employee concerns, it costs about $100,000 to conduct, which is difficult to justify at a time of layoffs and furloughs,” said Kelley Dobbs, vice president of human resources, strategy & culture and inclusion.

According to The Great Places to Work Institute, which conducts the survey for Alaska Airlines, “many companies defer employee surveys during times of rapid change,” said Dobbs. “Change is unsettling for many, so it is difficult to determine if survey results are due to change or embedded issues that need to be addressed.”:

You guys have a vice president of human resources, strategy & culture and inclusion?

I think I smell one more way to save $100,000.

Doubt that article will find it's way to the frontpage of Alaskasworld...

Then you must not check the news links often. They posted the link to the aforementioned article just as they usually do for a wide range of stories. I think that's one of the few things they do well. Of course this doesn't mean they'll change their tune from the current setting of "doom and gloom", but give credit where it's due, the link is there on the alaskasworld.com.

ummmm....there is no link on the main page. just some stupid article about some retarded cat from FAI.

oh....and the employee satisfaction survey being pulled...wonder why???

back to the doom and gloom of a company that made $63 million last quarter. even General Lee couldn't spin it that well.

What is the status of the potential furloughs? Could you be affected?

Lower right side under "News Links".....

Don't make fun of the cat. That was a very traumatic event in the cat's life. It is very important for all employees to know what happened to the cat. I felt so much better about the possibility of furlough after reading about the cat.
