Has anyone interviewed with AK in the last couple of weeks(since Nov.1st)?? Just wondering if the sim profile was still the same or if there is a new profile.
depends on what sim you get and who the evaluator is and what your previous experience is. As long as you can find your way comfortably on to, around and of of a dme arc and have no problem with NDB holding and approaches with some x-wind you will do fine.
Interviewed 3 weeks ago, same profile except told to expect MD80 and ended up in 737-700. Big difference in airplanes so if you have the opportunity to practice in both, do it.
I interviewed with Alaska towards the end of Oct and did my sim prep at Aviation Training Center in Seattle. 206.768.1332. If you have any reservations about the sim I'd check them out. Good luck!
Oh and guys don't forget the Women in Aviaion Conference. It's not as crowded as the Air Inc Confenerences. You actually get to talk with the HR Reps and the lines are much shorter. Check out the website at www.wiai.org. This year it's in Cincinnati, OH March 20-22. Just something to think about.
Ditto HLDK's advice on the Aviation Training Center's prep in Seattle, well worth the money and the intel and prep you get out of it.
Not sure when Dogg took the sim "Checkride" with Alaska but to say you should know how to arc and NDB hold with xwind is the "Understatement of the Century". My advice (and many others this last 12 months) get the gouge somewhere and practice in a sim somewhere (Desktop, MD-80 motion or 737 motion or better yet do all of them if you have the time or $$)
Bottom Line: Don't go in Cold!!!

Any word on how you did? Was your sim evaluation in the 737-700 sim? You're right - big difference between all-glass and all-dials for the sim evaluation.... I have a few friends at Alaska - one on the 737-400/700/900 and one on the MD-80. They both LOVE IT!!!!!!

Yeah, I got a call a week later and was NOT offered the job. Not sure why, as I thought the interview went well and I had LORs from 7 Alaska pilots. My sim partner, however, was offered a March class date. A friend of mine who just started said that Paul Majer told his class that he had a group of 9 post interview packet come across his desk (I think it was my weeks interview class) and only 3 were offered jobs. I know that Paul is the final say but I have now idea what makes or breaks you.
