Hello all,
Like many I am anxiously awaiting Alaska's new application system and for them to start hiring again (although I realize next spring/summer is most realistic for the latter). I am currently an E120 captain and just rolled over the turbine PIC requirement (all the other ones are met). I've had my app in since the UPAS days (@3 years), I have a Silver Bullet/Sponsor pilot (whatever they're calling it now) and know a handful of guys there who have also offered LOR's. I was planning on just hanging in the Bro for another year or so, but lately I've heard that just t-prop PIC won't be enough, and I need JET PIC to be competitive (it's always something else, right?). I could probably get into the RJ in a few months, but it would mean commuting to reserve indefinitely (Dante's 4th circle of hell, if I recall) and so I'm in no hurry.
So I was just wondering if the AK guys on this board who are in the know might have any insight. I know that making predictions in the airline business is only slightly better than betting on the ponies, but thought I would try. Thanks for any help you can give.
