Doesn't matter. The GOVT wants competition. Once you compete, it will be evidence at a proposed merger hearing. Look at your merger with AA. Not much overlap except from your hubs to their hubs. Where you got hit was the number or percentage of flights TOGETHER at certain slotted airports, like DCA. To get approval, you had to deal. What other airports in the US have this type of hype? Maybe LGA and ORD. Any future mergers will probably have to give up some slots at any of those airports. Other than that, your airlines didn't have very much overlap.

Bye Bye---General Lee

Understand.

I noticed Alaska is starting or started PHX to ANC recently. We do, I think, two flights daily on that route. Looks like Alaska is pissing in our pool too. :)

That flight isn't even daily. It's just retaliation for AA moving back into SEA-MIA.;)

Ha ha, a shot across the bow is it :) I think Alaska is a great airline. I didn't know though that it wasn't daily.

I heard we're starting LAX-SEA and LAX-GEG. That's good for you, it means Alaska will expand into one of our markets in retaliation.

ANC-PHX alternates with ANC-LAS.

Just wait till Spirit starts SEA! You know it's on the list.

Cheap fares alone don't always guaranty success. Look had badly Allegiant failed in a Hawaii. Spirit has a terrible reputation and AK has a very good one. Especially in SEA. They are not easy pickings and even their current little skirmish with DAL won't, I'm guessing hurt them much. They have a loyal following and a very good product.

Who cares .. I really don't think spirit pax fly Alaska much .. More like grayhound and amtrack.. .. Not taking anything away from their pilots .. That actually have balls ! Went on strike !!

Don't worry. Hawaii is on the list too! Many of the people we would be carrying to/from SEA probably aren't flying on AS or anyone for that matter. We'll do our thing and AS and DL can fight it out for the 'premium' traveler. We can peacefully coexist.
