How much of stickler are they to the 500 hrs of 121 time?

Is 5,000 hours total time the magic number for Air Tran?

I looked back through a bunch of Air Tran posts and it seemed that most of the people that replied and sounded like they worked there had 5,000 TT.

I don't really think there's a "magic number" for AirTran. Mine wasn't 5000, but it did the trick. I imagine they weigh many, many things when considering a prospective hire.
I'm not sure how hardover they are on the 121 time however. Better for a wiser, more experienced Citrus to answer that one. Oh, yeah, I have no experience. I do start training soon however:)

They hired me when I had about 3000tt and about 1.5 years worth of 121 time and no PIC 121. But then again thoes were diff times.

My numbers when I was hired (04/2004) were:

6200 TT
3000 PIC 121
4800 Jet
3000 PIC Jet(727)

My numbers were pretty reflective of the entire class. There was no one in my class without 2000-4000+ PIC Jet. I have met several guys coming through since my hire date and it seems the numbers are coming down a bit, but from what I hear AirTran is sticking to the PIC requirement. Hope this helps.

I have 6000 + Total, 3500 Jet, 2000 Jet PIC, and 121 experience. I also have 2 recommendations. However, I dont have the 121 PIC, so, yes, I think they are sticking to that requirement.

Hopefully we will all get a shot someday.

Are you at Air Tran or Mid Atlantic?

Most of the new fellas are great.. Lots of experience and previous RJ cappys or mainline furloughees.

Not sure about mins... But off the cuff ,most new folks have good experience. Lots military, Lots commuter, Lots furloughed.

All good folks and AirTran is lucky and happy to have em all. A couple left for SWA. I believe that they were in the pool prior to arriving in ATL.

A sincere welcome to all the new folks !! Also, Good Luck to all those trying to get on. Its a good place to work, and overall a great bunch to fly with. Do your trip and then spend some good time a home. Nothing fancy here at FL. Work hard and have fun. Starting over sucks... what else can you say.. suck it up... Have fun and keep a good attitude.

If you feel like pickin up the back go ahead !! The ol' FA's will love ya for it. Maybe grab em a little chicken at Popeyes and you'll have a fresh bottle of water and a cup of ice on every leg without pleading.

Sorry.. I was rambling. Welcome ! Good Luck
