hello all, i was just wondering if one recomendation is enough to get an interview or do you need more.

Hey bravo, I just got back from an interview with Airtran.
I didn't know a soul so I got called without a letter of Recommendation. I also sent my resume in about a year ago.
I did find out that they work on three piles of resumes. One is a pile with resumes with a letter of rec. attached to it. And it is imperative that it is attached. The second pile are thoses that they collected at AirInc. Seminars. The third pile is where mine came from, all those just faxed or sent in. They said the object is to get your resume in as many of the piles you can. Best of luck to you.

SunKing,
So how'd it go?

The sim ride went pretty flawless I'd say. Sim prep at Airinc was well worth it, would have hated to have jumped in that thing cold. The face to face interview went well also. I felt great about the experience. Should know something in about two weeks.

Good luck SunKing!! Hope to be right behind you! Getting really tired of the north end of Cellblock's C and D!!!

hey sunking

how do you like southeast. how long is the upgrade there. are they hirring at all. i would love to work for airtran but keeping options open.

Question for Sunking

The third pile you mentioned, you said faxed or sent in. The website says to e-mail your resume. Same difference or should I fax/send? I already have mine in the AirInc pile. I'm trying to track down the only guy I know at Airtran for pile 1.

Bluto: When I sent my resume in a year ago I"m not sure the email was an option. I know the fax was an option so that's what I went with. Personally I don't think they would ding you for fax/mailing it in but I could only assume e-mail is just as good. Id say your are in the two piles good luck finding your buddy for the third pile. Keep the faith

Bravodude: Southeast still has about 5 or 6 on furlough but could be recalled latter this year. It might be a good time to start getting your resume in. Upgrade is something that doesn't happen around here much. They used to hire exclusively street captains, they did upgrade three guys last year. They had been here for over 3 years. Upgrade doesn't go by seniority either. But if you live in St Petersburg, Fort Lauderdale , or Orlando, its a good place to hang your hat until something better comes along. If you are at a reputable regional I'd stay there if I were you.
