Well I guess I'm a weiner but my initial 717 FO checkride/oral was much more difficult than the J41, CRJ or 328Jet type rides I've done in the past.

I'm not saying it was unfair...just more difficult.

On another note,i heard that the v/s function will be remove from our old school airplane because some of those old school training pilots coming over, was given bad habit to new hires using v/s each time they need to go down instead of vnav which is more fuel efficient.
It's just what i heard, maybe someone can confirm or deny.

Not always...

vnav is only as fuel efficient as the cost index that was input. i also wonder sometimes what HAL is thinking as it rarely wants to do over 2000fpm unless it is behind.

what cost index does AAI run the 717? do they switch them on different legs or run a flat index? we run a flat 18, but i think with our new flight planning and release software we will have some flexibility to change this with the winds.

I haven't flown too much in the last 6 weeks.

i have seen a lot of junior fo's saying this on here. do you think they will slow down hiring or is it simply a winter slowdown in flying?

J41 hasn't flown cause he is a slacker, who whines about the training dept. But then again so do I and I have only flown 2 trips this month, so I guess Im a slacker too.

You got it...nothing but a slacker and a whiner. Well that and a dad that was home with his new little girl. :-)
