Think that article is a little skewed and biased?

Nahh.

Not really. They did a good job, however, you have to consider the fact that Airtran is a small airline compared to SWA. SWA has over 3200 flights a day while Airtran has what about 700. Big difference. SWA flies about 500+ aircraft while Airtran has something like 125+. Maybe they should not put Airtran in the same category as the big airlines. They should be compared with airlines the same size. Why should a small airline be compared to a large airline like Delta, American etc. Lets be fair and compare apples to apples.

Oh, please

Airlines like Delta and United have to factor in International traffic, and baggage transfers from other codeshares.

Maybe it should be domestic carriers versus international carriers.

PS., it's more like 140 aircrafts, all 10 years or younger, btw.

Good point about the international flights. Maybe it should be just domestic and size. I thought 125+ would be close. After all I was only 15 short. I also thought the + would account for that. If it was just domestic only and they compared them by size then SWA might be in a category all by themselves because there is no other airline that can be compared with them unless you throw in the regionals.

So, a little blurb about AirTran getting something right and you immediately start the SWA comparisons? What is it with you guys? It's easy...read the article, say kudos, or nod your head and move on. The d!ck measuring shizz is getting old.

You need to relax. I said Air Tran did a good job. Don't be a trouble maker and try and start something that is not here.

Word.

Kudos.

(nods head..)

Movin on....

In a related story, SWA tops in annual airline ranking created by pilot who only cares about W-2, schedule, QOL, and people-
Welcome aboard fellas- we're buying you for a reason- keep up the good work before and after this deal

The arrogance displayed by some of you Southwest pilots is disgraceful!

Congrats Air Tran.

You have no idea how unbiased it is. The AJC cant stand AirTran. It probably made them sick to print this article. The AJC has been on their knees for Delta since day one. The double breasted dorks have the Atlanta media in the hip pocket. Get a clue.

AirTran tops in annual airline ranking......and near the bottom in 'annual desireable places to work' ranking.

And all leased! HAHAHA!

Wait, how many are owned outright? Three?

RF

Leasing makes it much easier to return the airplane once a gapping hole is discovered during or after a flight. It's covered under our, "Platinum Chrystal Key Leasing Warranty Program". The great thing is that the warranty is transferable!

Seriously, why is it so hard to just say congrats and move on without the need to take a shot? It doesn't diminish SWA in any way to say AT has a quality product, and in fact it validates GK decision to buy us even more. We promise not to use any kind things you say about us in SLI negotiations! :-)

Congrats Air Tran.

Man, if you're worried about that...(?) ;-)
That's not 1/10th as arrogant as I can get(!) thought I was being pretty good- so, seriously- good job.

And yes kharma- I am southwest, as you will be, if you work at air tran, once our deal is done- I own stock- ...lots- though less than many Swapa pilots- Gary leads- we follow and do our job- one of the best things about southwest is that there is no disconnect between the pilots, execs and the whole concept of southwest- we are each responsible for the success or failure of this place-

So yes- we are buying your company- and bc youre a good company-when we do you will be southwest pilots and will be held just as accountable-
And it's a good thing-
:-)

LOL!, are you the United States of America too? What was your say in the Board Room when Gary Kelly decided to go through with the AirTran acquisition? We scored higher than, "you" in a survey, big deal, lose your insecurities you guys are still the best in my eyes!!!!!!!

Kinda like marrying a girl you met in a bar with a minimum wage job and $40,000 in credit card debt.

Southwest is buying all the Airtran debt too. How can you not understand that leases are a complete drag on the bottom line? Be glad Southwest operates the way they do....hopefully you will benefit when you come over as well.

I find it interesting you like to throw grenades at your future company.

The hole in the aircraft was a manufacturing problem. SW complied with every directive sent out by both Boeing and the FAA. You'll be flying the same planes, which I'm completely confident in. Will you be?

Will you be so upset with the way Southwest operates that you'll send your annual profit sharing check back to Gary?

That's fantastic that Southwest is complying with the AD, please tell that to the family that is planning their next trip to Disney, they could care less if its Boeing's fault or not, it says Southwest on the side if the airplane (research SabreTech). One more convertible 73 and you and I could be in trouble. Think about that while sitting on your high horse.

Man, I have not been on here for a month or so, same stuff, same folks.

I am getting the feeling there are AAI pilots who will not be happy at SWA. My word to you, do not come over! If you don't want to be here, we don't want you. Period.

I do find it hard guys have bad things to say about their (possible) future employer. I am sure there are thousands of guys willing to take your spot, as a brand NH too! We just had almost 6000 apps for 100 spots this past month.

Funny, this thread was about AirTran being number one and then quickly turned into a petty attempt by your Southwest brothers to diminish it. So, who has the bad attitude?
