Maybe it is just the run-up in advance of the 3rd Quarter earnings announcement (on 10/22), or if there is something a-foot, but our stock hit a high of $19.50 today.

I have heard various rumors of everything from a stock split to a code-share to . . . . . but you know how rumors are.

Curiously enough, Wall Street values AirTran at $1.6 Billion, and Delta at $1.7 Billion.

Go figure.

I've been in this stock and options since Feb. and will most likely make more money investing than working for comair this year. The recent runup has to be the great numbers Airtran continues to put up and the popularity of "discount" carriers amoung professional investors. up 8 bucks in two months is unreal.
If you ever want to talk stocks PM me.
watch Skywest, they could be getting the next round of Delta's RJs.

It's up another buck to $20.74

Something's up.

The whole industry was up today. The percentage increase is a better indicator.

DAL +8.0%

AMR +11.2%

JBLU +2.79%

CAL +8.8%

NWAC +13.9%

AAI +5.06%

No big deal.................although JBLU has been very impressive.

You're right. The percentage increase is a better indicator. Anyone who knows me or who has read my posts in the past knows I'm fairly low key when it comes to talking about my company, etc. Primarily I post on here to answer questions and provide information as best I can. I know how this industry is, and how volitile it has been during my 25 year career, so I try to stay humble and grateful and hope for success for everyone.

But, I will say that when I started at AirTran in Aug '02, the stock price was around $3.80. It closed today at $20.76. I would have to say that is also a "very impressive" percentage increase in just over a year's time.

BTW....NYR, the season is starting...finally. I wish you and the Rangers good luck, but I gotta throw in my $.02 worth---GO AVS!!

That is a very impressive jump from $3.80 to over $20 in just over a year. I am glad to see some stocks on the rise again. I hope it is a sign of the industry getting healthier.

Those AVS are going to be tough......they are already a great team, now with Karia and Salane.........scary. I am hoping for a good Ranger year......the playoffs at the very least.

Take care and fly safe.

Regards,

NYR

I wasn't just referring to today's increase . . . it seems to me that something is afoot.

I uess we'll see soon enough.

And the winner is AMR. AMR 52 week low $1.25, today $14.85

I just wish my crystal ball could have predicted it.::D

The Mesa grab for ACA is just a bluff. They've got bigger fish to fry. Lookout Airtran! Once they transfer all the 717's to the Mesa certificate, they'll replace the Airtran fleet with B1900's. Can't wait to see Ty giving the safety briefing. Better polish those instrument skills.

D'OH!!!

Although, when I was a corporate/135pilot, I had to give "the brief" every other leg, so it wouldn't be entirely new to me !
