Hi!

Why would anyone want to work at AirTran???

Same old thing: DAL sucks, NWA is terrible, CAL awful, Cathay crap, Emirates horrid, etc., etc.

Now, why would I want to work at AirTran???

My longest trip would be less than 165 days, which is the length of the current trip that I'm on.

I would be flying modern equipment, and not a DC-9.

I would not have to shop at Nakumatt Mega for groceries at my crashpad.

My crashpad would be better accomodations than where I'm living.

I can think of some more, but got to get up at 0500 for a safari-one thing I wouldn't be doing at AirTran.

Finally, some perspective for you domestic guys.

Thanks, Cliff...

Nope, sorry- Southwest guys have it worse. They have to do LBB.

I hope you're making some really big money to put up with that crap. I'd rather work at CostCo than deal with all of that.

Hi!

I couldn't pay the bills at Costco, even if I got a job there. I know a number of guys have been turned down by WalMart, Home Depot, etc. as they are over-qualified.

As long as he's happy that's all that matters. For most pilots, flying is a passion. It's in their blood. They aren't happy unless thay are in the air. Most pilots have worked various other jobs and none can much up. A crappy freight, 135, or regional job is still better than any other non-flying job because they are doing what they love. They'll put up with a lot of crap to be able to go to work and fly an airplane for a living.
ATPCLIFF is just doing what he loves. Unfortunetly with this economy, you have to take what you can get.

Adversity has revealed the character in you, ATP. Fortune favors the bold!
