Sounds like you guys are having a tough time at the negotiating table.

Froglegs....nice try at flamebait but your track record proceeds you.

Another reptile heard from

Hey, Frog- Shouldn't you be playing elsewhere with the other reptiles?

I hear LameLizard/Chuckie's still walking a little funny pushing the beverage cart up the aisles. . . . and it's not just from too much cheap draught beer on Howell Avenue.

Yeah? So what's it to you? Get weeded out in an interview, did you?

What a shame... Sounds like you'd have been a real joy to fly a 4-day with, too.

Most likely these guys will get a pay freeze with no COLA increase for 5 years. After that, if the company is still around, then some sort of pay increase. Airtran has profited during the past 5 years off the decline of the legacy carriers. When one talks about the worst downturn in the industry it is reflected towards the legacy's. Bottom line, Airtan has a real rough road ahead if they want to compete with the newly emerged legacy carriers. Sorry, but that storm is brewing and if you're dumb enough not to see it then well, you're going to get slammed.

Pretty tough words from a Skyways vending machine. . . . .

The pilot membership has been polled three times, most recently about 90 days ago. The Union knows exactly what it will take to get a majority of the pilots to sign the next contract and it sure ain't a pay freeze . . . it will also absolutely need to have COLA.

Which reminds me, Chucky . . . . how about you quit running your man-pleaser and get me another cola, fool!

.

I'm flattered you took the time during your busy day to listen to our negotiation information. Thank you for your concern. I'm assuming Midwest Express has the same sort of system, maybe with polka music from the Brat Stop in the background?;)

BBWWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!! Stop it, you're killing me...

If the company is still around? Pass around some of that stuff you're smokin' already.

That's right, we HAVE been, and CONTINUE TO BE, profitable... during the worst economic downturn in aviation history... during the highest oil prices in history... and we'll CONTINUE to be profitable as ticket prices slowly rise and oil stays relatively steady.

Bottom line, Airtan has a real rough road ahead if they want to compete with the newly emerged legacy carriers. Sorry, but that storm is brewing and if you're dumb enough not to see it then well, you're going to get slammed.
Whooaaa... wait a second. What the fu*k kind of convoluted logic is THAT? On one hand, we've been profitable during the worst economic period in aviation history, yet now that times are improving, profit margins are RISING on higher yields AND margins, we're somehow all of the sudden in trouble?

Where, exactly, did you get your MBA? I think you might have missed an economics class or two...

What a yutz. :smash:

Anything that doesn't AT LEAST carry COLA plus company paying a LARGE PORTION of my healthcare costs plus a little more into my B fund (401k, whatever you want to call it), and you can include my "No" vote. I've been told I'm in the minority, and that MOST of the pilots polled have a "No" threshold at a MUCH higher minimum rate increase.

Somehow I don't think they're gonna shutdown over a 10% overall increase effective DOS and 3-5% a year, and I'm SURE AS HELL not signing to "freeze" pay rates which is, considering my cost of living increases every year, an actual pay CUT for me over time.

No thanks, could have had that by staying at PCL. KMDA.

By the way, does anyone know what the paperwork the company sent out on the healthcare medicare / prescription drug thing means? Please PM me, there was no letter of explanation or anything accompanying it and I don't have insurance through the company, we have coverage through my wife's job at about 70% less than what the company charges us.

All I got was a list of semi-monthly insurance costs, a rah-rah letter about how awesome the EPO is and how to find a network doctor. I wouldn't sweat it.

Hmmm... strange. I didn't even get that. I got some copy of airTran's SEC filing about our insurance costs from 2005 (2 years ago wtf?) and a letter saying how our prescription drug benefits were about the same as medicare and if I opted to take medicare I might not be able to get back in?

I don't have Medicare, my wife is employed by the HCA Hospital system and has the top-of-the-line Aetna medical coverage for our entire family for $80 bucks per pay period.

I still have no clue what the heck it's for, I read it all twice, even the legalese, and it doesn't apply to me at all...?

Whatever, I guess... lol Thanks, though.

Please don't feed the troll. Clyde Frog is 400adude, einstein, chuck yogurt, einstein, and countless other "BANNED" screen names. She's a flight attendant for skyway airlines in MKE. He's pissed at the world he didn't become a pilot, and still lives in his parents' trailer!
If you click on her name, you'll see that she only responds in flaimbait to Air Tran and DL threads negatively!
Again, please don't feed the troll!

As usual my friend you are obessed with Yogurt and company. You must really miss that guy in a serious. By the way, watch your potty mouth.

WTF!!! Just looked at some flights the other day Airtran selling tickets for $19 bucks one way. Some of the fares went as high as $69 one way!! With management selling tickets at those prices what do you expect them to give you in negotiations? I have A LOT of buddies there from Mesaba, I hope you Airtran guys get whatever you want, but ticket prices like that won't get you anywhere. I know pilot's don't have a say in what the company sells their seats for but that is scary!!

This I've got to see . . . .I have never seen a $19. ticket . . . . . or anything in that ballpark. Let's see it . . . what's the city pair/ flight number / date?

PS, if you let some promo fare set your expectation for a contract, you're in the wrong business . . .

.

Hi!

What do u guys think about Airtran trying to buy/merge with Midwest Airlines?

Ty, I dont know dates but someone told me MDW to MSP that was going that cheap.

You guys crack me up.

All I said was "Looks like you guys are having a tough time at the negotiating table"

Based on what YOUR union president said, that is a true statement. And because of that you attack me. You guys are so used to people giving you crap that your first reaction is to assume someone is attacking you.

Lighten up.

I've been with Airtran for 2 years now and have never been polled for my opinion on what should be in the new contract. Maybe they only call those with local Atlanta numbers? The new contract needs to acknowledge that over 70% of our pilots commute. I hope we are asking for some commuter protections (at least get rid of that ridiculous $25 walkup fare and offer unlimited jump seats). I sure as h*ll won't settle for no pay increase.

All the BoD members email addresses are on www.npa-atl.org. The negotiating committee takes it's direction from the BoD. If you haven't been asked what you expect, tell them.

As for you not settling for a pay cut, that's just the tip of the iceberg. You would not believe the blatant contract violations that go on every day around here, and the pilots allow it.

Ty...he's telling the truth. I was checking the Reservations webpage and it was there on the left plain as day..."Fares as low as $19 each way". You can't park your car for that!

It's beyond reckless and absurd for any airline management to sell tickets that low. What does that say about your product? Then they come to us and claim they can't afford our propsed new contract...all the while taking one bonus after another on top of their already outrageous salaries.

It's getting very darn close to Picket Time.

And wait to see how many cross it. I'd put the odds at close to half crossing the line.

<BSEG> I wonder why you would put the odds so high? <BSEG>
