you will have to strike to get a contract from those guys, they think you have a weak pilot group and will drag out the contract forever...forever...

Maybe so.

I had to laugh when I read this about your departing CFO...

"Gadek spent eight years at AirTran, headquartered in Orlando, Fla., following a more than two-decade career in aviation.

He was instrumental in AirTran's unsuccessful bid for Midwest Airlines"

Instrumental in something unsuccessful? Is that really something worth mentioning?

Does the NPA have the $$$ to endure a strike?

get your house in order, differed that capt toys, pay off your car, talk to your wife about the possibility.
they've been telling us we need to consume to get the economy going;look at where this took us.
save for the rainy days, just look outside,it's all cloudy.

When have they asked for paycuts? They know we are going to get a raise too just like Bob (just not the same percentage). They are just trying to drag their feet to delay the cost increase. We had the leverage last year and unfortunately it was used to get the 15 year guys $180/hr (not much good to 90% of us).

On another note, just looked at the investor relations part of Airtran.com. It looks like a $20 million loss for Q1. Not too bad considering we probably had a $80-100 million spike in fuel for the quarter. At least we were able to pass most of that on to the consumer through higher prices. I am sure some of the loss was due to the fact that some of the tickets were purchased before the big rise in fuel. Still looking to make $15 million Q2 although not near as good as last year's profit for Q2.
