I sure hope this is just a quick growth move and change over asap. Last thing we need in MKE is another regional flying for majors

Didn't they try this before?
Actually, no. Airtran's contract with Air Wisconsin was a fixed fee per departure contract so if Air Wisconsin's RJs weren't that full, Airtran lost money. The contract with Skywest is a revenue prorate deal so Skywest is responsible for determine pricing and seat availability out of their markets (OMA, DSM, STL, CAK, PIT and IND). If the Skywest airplanes aren't full enough or don't have high enough ticket prices, Skywest loses money not Airtran.

This is a very low risk way for Airtran to add 18 flights per day into the MKE hub to compete with Republic's buildup in MKE.

I am confused. I thought AirTran and Frontier are codeshare partners. So, AirTran is using Skywest to compete against it's codeshare partner's parent company, Republic?

Airtran has codeshare with Frontier...Frontier has codeshare with Midwest... Midwest has codeshare with Delta...Delta doesn't like Airtran...Airtran Doesn't like Midwest... what is going on?

Stupid move...shared-risk is dead. Like OO can make number in MKE without a FFD scheme.
