AirTran has an add this morning on climbto350 for First Officers, just tried to update my online app at airtran.com, haven't been able to update it, just says the app is complete after logging on, anyone been able to update their online app without deleting it and starting a completely new app again.

Thanks.

According to one of the "Hiring Coordinators" the on-line app can only be updated once every six months. Don't know why, and don't know why they don't have that little nugget of info on there . . . . .

There have many people with the same problem. Airtran has their IT department on the issue. For all those applying to Airtran, be sure to take the time and be precise when filling out the online apprlication because you will not be able to make updates/adjustments until the problem is remedied by their people.

So they do not have enough internal recommendations that they have to advertise on Climbto350? I have had a few people walk my stuff in and have not been privileged enough to get a phone call. I know what their minimums are but I wonder what they are really looking for. Is there really a magic number of PIC time?

Are you talking about after you "submit/authorize" the online application?

Because I have been slowly filling out the online application one page per day over the last week. And I've been able to log in each time and continually update it.

What's the word on getting this glitch fixed in the IT dept?

I would guess that they "advertise" pilot openings either to fulfill some sort of EEOC requirement, or do it in exchange for free ads for non-pilot positions.

It is certainly not for a lack of qualified applicants

I've heard from a couple of different folks there in Atlanta that AirTran has thousands upon thousands of applications. I don't think they're having a difficult time finding enough applicants from which to choose.

at the end of the online app, the disclaimer is that AirTran has received your info and will call you within 30 days if you are going to be invited to interview. If not selected you may re-apply in 6 months.

Once you send the app in, it is frozen unless you delete it and start over. I guess the only way of updating is wait 29 days, delete it, start over, send it, and repeat as necessary.
