Here are some facts: AAI or SWA votes this down...off to arbitration and all the sugar cookies on the table for AAI (and for SWA:the 1.25 flying with junior tranny override pay) are now up for negotiation...Now some conjectured BS on my part: Mr Kelly saves $$, but he risks the culture to a panel of judges...an Arby outcome that is worse than this AIP for the SWA pilots will go over like a lead balloon here and Mr Kelly will have lost the pilots, a calculated risk he took by deciding to buy AAI. He is trying to buy the seniority of the AAI pilots to make the integration more palatable to his pilots...

It's important to point out the arbitrator does not arbitrate or determine any of the goodies, only the isl. Additionally, it's worth noting who does.

1 Senior CA
1 Junior CA
2 Senior FO's

The 5th person you are referring to is likely the Chairman of the Contract Negotiations Committee. He is an FO.

He is not part of the Merger Committee, but part of the Transition Committee, which handles the details of how we would transition from our CBA to the SWAPA CBA. For example, work rules, benefits, etc.

But Ty, I thought your MC went rogue and worked all those details out without the input of you NC Chair. I thought part of your MEC's problem with the AIP was that the MC over-stepped its bounds big time, and therefore the deal shouldn't have been up for consideration.

Oh, and BTW, you may have heard that y'all won't be needing an NC for those items anyways. That ship sailed! Good luck!!
