Just a quick question...

I am a new hire at a 135 in Florida. Our company has jumpseat privileges with Air Tran. I am not a required crewmember though, and I don't meet 135 VFR PIC mins yet. Is it still possible for me to J/S, or do I have to be a required crewmember?

Thanks.

Jumpseat is for active pilots

and usually only part 121. We are an exception by allowing 135 guys also, but I would have to say no on this one.
Sorry, I don't mean to be a d1ck about it. That would just be a bit of a stretch until you get the time and checked out on the certificate. Other guys may look the other way, but I doubt it.

I personally would let you go, but getting past the gate agent might be a different story. Thanks again Osama!! I can't wait till' we kill you.........

Thanks all for your replies.

I will probably just wait until I pass my 135 checkride. This way I won't get turned down at the airport, or even worse, make it up north and get turned down coming home and dishing out $$ to buy a ticket.

I would wait until you are a "required crewmember" and have the appropriate and required credentials. Some may let it slide but as the above poster has mentioned it would be a "stretch" and you may end up getting stuck somewhere.

ATA will also take all 135 guys....

good luck
