I have a squadron mate who has an interview upcoming with Airtran. This person is not an FI member and is too chicken to join. So, I've been asked to post this for this person.

How should this person answer the question, should it come up in the interview, of if they have interviewed or been hired at another carrier? This person is in the hiring pool at another carrier, but hasn't been called to class yet. It looks as if this person, if hired, could get to class sooner with Airtran vice the other carrier.

Also, do any Airtan new-hires have good interview gouge? She's too cheap to pay the $$ to join aviationinterviewsdotcom.

Thanks.

if she is a she, does it really matter how she answers any questions? she'll get hired.

Nice.:erm: But, the "she" is a "he". That was my way of sending him a friendly barb since he's too much of a wuss to sign up and ask for himself.

aviationinterviews.com is free. You can pay (and get technical support) or you can join free (without technical support).

Will "this person" stay at AirTran if called by the other carrier or will they leave ASAP if given the opportunity? AirTran is looking for guys/gals that will stay for the long haul.

Simple answer: tell the truth....unless of course your friend doesn't really want to work at AirTran. Then, by all means, lie!

Tell the "nutless wonder" that if he is in the pool somewhere else, and intends to go there, to not waste a precious class date that could go to someone who wants to come here and work.

If the person would rather work here, then tell him to be honest, and to tell the interviewer that if hired, they will send a "thanks, but no thanks" letter to the other airline.

Always tell the truth! A guy that lives down the street of mine interviewed there last year and lied about scabbing during the interview. During the background check he was pulled from class when they discovered he really hadn't scabbed!

The interview is pretty straight forward from what I have heard. TMAAT blah .... Be ready for the F-word question. The HR rep had him make up a complete sentence with the F-word. After he was done she said that was pretty weak and she coudn't hear him. He brought it up an extra ten octaves and her eyes lit up... "Wow" she said, "I've never heard some one use the word as powerfully as that!!" Hired on the spot!

Pullease, if better opportunities come along at any job go to them. You are just a number anywhere and management doesn't really care anyhow they will fill the spots. Do what is best for you today...and then tomorrow. The days of employee loyalty are over.

If you re-read my post, there, Sporto, maybe you will see that I wasn't talking about loyalty to an employer so much as not wasting a class date that could go to someone who really wants to work at AirTran.

Yeah, I know it is a lot to ask in an industry populated with people like yourself, but, hey, it's just a thought.

I am an Air Tran fan, and I detest Uppercrust's avatar, but that post on being a scab pulled me in and caught me--great timing. Nice job, Uppercrust...

Uppercrust..Dad here......Have you finished your homework? You know the rules about being on the computer before your finished with your school work. We'll have a little talk when I get home, son.

Yawn. If you say so, Sporto. Maybe you ought to cover your own butt . . . . since your head is obviously stuck in there.

Like I said to you Ty you are inexperienced...juvenile. Enough.

Yeah, I'm inexperienced and juvenile. You make sure to let me know when I become experienced and mature . . . . . tell me, when I have a big airplane name as my screen name, will I be as mature and experienced as you? Or will I have to wait until I am impotent and cranky like you to qualify for your exalted approval?

I can hardly wait . . . . . .

Kandahar:

I hate to tell you this....but your friend is wasting his time if he "doesn't want to pay to be prepared"....

He may get the job in spite of this, but if he really want the job he will do whatever it takes to be prepared.

Ty boy,
You need to spend a little less time on Flightinfo and a little more time with your pet Iguana. You know the Iguana that Mom and Pop bought you for christmas. Poor thing is probably have dead from starvation and could use a little attention.:)

I don't have a lizard, but I do have a snapping trouser trout. How do you like yours? Smothered in underwear?

Hey, let's cut Ty some slack. That pet Iguana is more than likely a female and that is the closest he has ever gotten to petting a female. Except for maybe a stray sheep now and then.

Forget it.... You folks crack me up.

I'm not immature, you are!

here fishy, fishy....
