As of 1200 ET on December 21, 2011, we have not received any valid
protests. The Transition Bid Awards will stand as originally posted. The
latest Training Plan follows on pages 2 and 3 of this document. The first
Training Bid will open on January 1st, 2012. Instructions, a Q&A and the
Training Bid Notice will be posted on or before January 1st.
737 to 717 Training at AirTran will commence Jan 2012 and will continue all year.

The most recent training plan shows:

The first 737 SWA F/O conversion class in Dallas in March, consists of:

4 ATL 717 CA
5 ATL 717 FO
9 ATL 737 FO
2 MCO 717 CA
4 MCO 737 CA

No MKE or MCO F/O's, total 24 pilots.

One class of 48 ATL pilots in Apr, one class of 48 ATL pilots in May, none in June, July, or August, then in Sep:

7 ATL 717 CA
7 ATL 717 FO
3 MCO 737 CA
7 MCO 737 F/O

Nothing in Oct, Nov, Dec 2012, or Jan or Feb 2013, then one class in March 2013

3 ATL 717 CA
3 ATL 717 FO
12 MCO 737 CA (last of the 737 Captains in MCO, only a 717 base after this).
6 MCO 737 F/O's (last of the active 737 F/O's in MCO).

Again, this is only tentative, and doesn't show any MKE 737 pilots going anywhere except to the 717 FO seat next year (or into 2013), which means it looks like they will leave a small 737 MKE base open into 2013 with a minimal contingent of pilots (they're drawing out half the MKE F/O's first thing this January - most junior 14 to 717 F/O in the very first month to "balance the base").

Just FYI for a quick snapshot of how the transitions to SWA look.

Merry Christmas to all, Happy Chanukah and Solstice to those so inclined. :)

Lear,
Don't read the transition plan as anything more than a guess. The company has no idea how they are going to bring you guys over or when outside about 6 months. Everything else is just a guess. The 717's future is still in the air.
The max class size at SWA is 24, BTW.

If I recall, Max class is 24 per class every two weeks, so 48 in a month will work, 48 in 1 class, Highly unlikely.

Now if Torti was still there, "Those *(& *$&# ^%&$%# &$*#$('s can go 24/7." (Don't take it personally FSW guys, That was just BT and we miss him!)

Bob was the "CHUCK NORRIS" of the training department!

this just in: SWA always changes her mind!!!

I thank you for stating what SWA can't. Instead of a memo with some power point horse blanket, I would prefer they show a picture of a dart board with the darts on the seat/AC/domicile that is transitioning. A picture is worth a thousand words...
