Anyone know the dates of the current ones and how long they are?

The original schedule of classes created around DEC 2011 is essentially worthless, due to uncertainty of SWA int'l ops start and the 717 departure. Anything you have seen or currently see is subject to change. It takes 2 months from day one of school to IOE completion to complete the transition and become eligible to bid a line.

Let me rephrase: Anyone know if there are currently guys in a conversion class due to finish soon. I may trade into a checkairman trip if the stars look like they might align and CA upgrade guys are needing UOE as well

I understood that there were no transitions going on during the summer months but not sure if the last group has come out on line yet! If you look at the "Temporary domicile awards, that should give you an idea but not sure where those are on SWALife or SWAPA. (or if they are actually on there!)

Good Luck on the gamble!

Daddy, if you want to see the last class award I will send it to your email. It's for Sept. I have no animosity towards any SWA pilot, but I wouldn't piss on your management if they were on fire.

Just curious. What did ya think about your former management?

There will be classes starting in September. They should be on-line for IOE towards the middle of October and the next class right behind them in mid-November. I wouldn't bid Sep expecting any of them to be doing IOE, the last class before them just finished up IOE week before last (a buddy of mine was in that class).

There won't be any more classes again until 1st part of March next year and we don't know from where yet. The original plan had them drawing down MCO 1st quarter next year, but that's all changed now. That, however, has drastically changed with the 717 deal.

From initial (unofficial) information I've heard, it looks as though there will be NO 737's crossing the partition next year, only 717's to Delta which means they need to get 717 pilots out of AirTran over to Southwest. Might be MCO first, might not, but starting 2nd quarter next year, the transitions should be pretty much every single month since they need to get 20-25 pilots per seat per month across the partition. (staffing roughly 6-7 crews (12-14 pilots) per aircraft * 3 717's to Delta per month).

Non-Int'l 737's at AirTran should be going to heavy check and coming out with Rafts and HF all through next year and a large increase of International flying at AirTran until the Reservation piece is in place at Southwest, THEN they'll start transitioning 737's again.

All of that subject to change, of course.

Pcl

Management gets the labor force they deserve. Before this deal they had 6000 relatively ecstatic, happy glad to come to work pilots.

Staple the Trannies and you still have 6000 happy and 1800 pissed. Maybe you can shed some light on the defects of the 1800 that would be happy. Eventually, most of you would've been happy. Just like the Morris Pilots.

Now, with this brilliant scheme, mgt has at least 5000 pissed off pilots. (unscientific but just based on the numbers of those who believe they were screwed over by the deal)

So, nice job swa mgt. Not too smart.

I think the angry crowd lacks credibility and perspective.
Executives come in FAR worse versions than this crowd, though to see that you must pull your head out of your arse.

Which is exactly why management should have just let the whole thing go to arbitration. If anyone had been pissed off, they'd be pissed off at an impartial panel of three arbitrators, rather than being pissed off at each other and management. SWA executives woefully mismanaged this whole process.

Mgmt, did not want arbitration, their call...the deal is done
