StopNTSing'

The first jumpseat will always be free on AirTran. Our pilot contract covers this, ba-da bing, as I'm sure most others do.

I can't believe how many of you are willing to pay to jumpseat. I suppose you all paid for training too. How many of you were even flying 10 years ago? Remember when jumpseating was a professional courtesy? It was and is a reciprocal agreement between professional pilots that says, "you give me a ride where I am going and I will do the same for you." The "only as many jumpseaters as we have jumpseats" policy has always been a company thing. At America West we do and always will let as many as we have seats for. And if the company ever tried to screw you guys by requiring you to pay for the privilege, you would see our pilot group respond in force. If you're willing to pay for the jumpseat, then buy a F^@#ing pass and get out of the way of professional pilots with integrity! The Freedom pilots found out about reciprocity the hard way, I only hope AirTran doesn't spread another bad seed throughout the industry.

Pretty big words from a clown who works for a company that hasn't managed to make two cents to rub together during some fo the best years in the entire history of the airlines, let alone now.

You're dictating jumpseat policy to the rest of us? Going to go on strike to keep the whole cabin open to jumpseaters are you?

When we want any sh!t out of you, we'll slap it out of you.

After looking again at my last post, I thought it might be coming across as skeptical...not at all my intent. I genuinely hope the first jumpseat always stays free on you guys and everyone else.

RacerX,

AWA has the right attitude, unlimited jumpseats that is, a few other airlines have seen the light. AAI allows one free jumpseater, the rest may purchase a pass. Perfect, no, but so much more desirable than the "ONE jumpseat" carriers.

Heck, we don't have pass privileges on these airlines, otherwise, you can be assured I would gladly buy a pass and get to work, that is, if the j/s was taken.

Racer x- Uh, not realy true, at least for me. I am 0 for 1 at your airline, with the only comment being a straight "no" from the Captain. It was the only time I have ever been turned down on any airline.

Don't worry, on my airplane, you get past the gate agent, you got a seat. Welcome aboard. Even the idiot who wouldn't take me home.

just pay the f"ckin 25$ and quit crying... I personally don't fully agree with the policy, but it's a small price to pay to get home after a long trip.
