Does San Juan count as international, because FP all but said we're going there. He also said we won't make much money there. He also said that's why we aren't and probably won't ever go to Cancun. International is great, but we need to be making money, no doubt with every station we're going into. We are taking less airplanes next year, 10. They are probably going to 4 new cities, SJ, Montreal, maybe SLC and OK City? early next year. With oil approaching $100 and contract negotiations looming 08 may be the turning point for Airtran. Let's hope Mr. Fornaro is ready to take us where we need to be.

More fun

"But Fornaro told industry analysts that the carrier will slow its capacity growth to 10 percent next year — about half its pace in recent years — and defer deliveries of at least 10 aircraft."

This will get interesting, hold on Boys and Girls.

The deferment is a misquote, during the conference call the aircraft schedule was spelled out.
1st qtr: 5 aircraft
2nd: 3 aircraft
3rd: 2 aircraft
total of ten, 3 deferred. BF did say could possibly defer more if demand dictates it.

No Flame here...

Could he be "moving on" due to the failed buyout and the rejected contract?? Might be some outside pressure.....

It will be interesting to see how this affects the tone of negotiations and the stance the company has drawn on minimizing any real contractual gains.

Not even going to start on the results of more aircraft delivery deferrals...
