Interviewed a couple of weeks ago, Just curious how long it's taking to get the wonderful call or dreaded letter from AirTran?
They mentioned a 9/18 classdate not sure what's scheduled after that.
Thanks in Advance

I interviewed on 5 Aug and got the "great news" phone call on 21 Aug (2 weeks and 2 days later). All the other successful candidates from my group (6 out of 10, as far as we know) got the call that Thursday or the next day. Jill told us at the interview that we should hear in 1 to 3 weeks, and that if we were still waiting for word 3 weeks later, to call Greta to find out what was going on.

The September class is not being held at the present time. The trainees for that class were distributed to other class dates. The next class that we know of is 9 Oct, where the majority of my interview group have been placed. Maybe we'll see you there?

Can't wait,

Shag.

I'm in the Oct. 9th class. I interviewed on Aug. 19th and got the call on Aug. 22nd. I don't know how I got so lucky! So far I have heard that only 2 of us out of 8 got good news. I know that 3 got "the letter" about a week after the interview. So no news is good news I guess.

Has anyone for the Oct. 9th class got the employment package yet? Greta said it would be sent, but didn't say when.

I can't wait either!

I interviewed on the 5th of August and am in the Oct. 9th class as well. I talked with Greta on the 4th of Sept. and she told me that the Oct 9th class packages will be sent out early next week.

On another note. How do you find a crash pad? I am coming from the military and have no clue how to get in on that gig.

There are several ways to "get in on that gig". One is that there will be others in your class in the same boat. Several of you can go in together and get an apartment and share in your own crash pad. The other way is when you get to class, there will be numerous postings on the bulletin boards in both the training center and the crew room/pilot bag room advertising openings in already established crash pads. Some will require that you have your own transportation, some will be near hotels or the MARTA where you can use them for transport.

There is no shortage of crash pads, either way you want to go. Don't lose any sleep over this issue. It will be one of the easier ones to successfully deal with.

Probably less than 150.

Looking at the seniority list, there are 200 pilots still here who were hired prior to the VJ crash, which includes pilots from the "original" AirTran who were integrated into that list after the merger. Not sure about the exact ratio they were merged, but I'd say that 150 would be about right.

We currently have 800 pilots, and expect to double that in the next four years.

Ty's guess is pretty close, the top 150-170 were around during the VJ days however a good portion of them never worked for VJ, they were origional AirTran (MCO 737 operation).

847 pilots as of August 28th!

I interviewed Aug 21 and got a call on Sept 2 for a class on Oct 9th. A buddy of mine interviewed with me and got the bad letter a couple of days prior. Another who interviewed with me heard the the good news the same time I did but was given the class that starts on the 30th of Oct.
Good Luck
