Easier still- go to the airtran.com website. Pick your city pairs and date. Pick 1 pax. Look at the flights. Now, back up and try to select 9 pax (that's the most it will do). If your flight appears, there are at least 9 seats available. If not, try a smaller number.

Great suggestion! Also, call 1-800-AIR-TRAN to list. Personnally, I wear the uniform when commuting just to give myself the extra option of the F/A jumpseat. AirTran is a very commuter friendly airline. Don't forget that ASA is also unlimited jumpseat. If you're trying to use Delta, have back up options. Personnally, their pilots have been pretty good to me, but I have been left in ATL when there have been 20+ seats avail in coach because the J/S was occupied (line check or FAA guy). Personally, I'll wait (as opposed to buying an ID-90), but that's your call.
